I bought a Suzuki Hayabusa with a 9.9% rate back in the summer of 2006. The first 2 years of the contract were for $99.00 a month. I set up automatic payment through Bank of America to pay $100.00 every month that way I would not have to worry about it. My payments were do on the 29th of every month. My Bank of America records go back 6 months online to verify that they have been paid on the 29th. On December 2006 I moved overseas to Germany as part of my military commitment. I breifly put my mail on hold and then changed my address to my military one. I incorectly assumed my automatic payment that was the same every month would be on time like it used to be.

Shortly after I changed my address HSBC changed my due date to the 27th exactly one day before when my payments had been arriving. I never recieved any mail or e-mails notifying me of this. I foolishly assumed everything was fine since I did all my banking online and had recieved notification.

So for the last 15 or 16 months (HSBC could not give me any exact records) they claim I have been late on my payment (by 1 day) and charged me a $39 late fee a total of $624. They have also raised my interest rate from 9.9% to 21.9%

I called them up and paid the $360 they claimed I owed even though I had made my payment of $100 every single month which arrived on the 28th exactly 1 day before my original due date.

The only things the Floor Supervisor (highest level I could talk to) told me was:

1. I don't can't tell you what address we sent your payments to but if you tell me what address they should have gone to I might be able to comfirm that.

2. We raised your rate because you were late but what the purpose of raising the rate was he said that's what they do. (he would not confirm or deny if this was just greed)

3. They will never lower my rate for the life of the loan now that they have raised it.

4. He could not tell me why they changed the due date of my account.

Also keep in mind I was transfered 4! TIMES! before I was connected to this moron. Pleas show my a presidential canidate that will take on the credit card companies and they will have my vote.

Note: I also had a due date chaning issue with this company when I bought my bowflex which I am so glad I was able to pay off early. Yet I have NEVER had an issue of lateness with any other company I have paid with automatic payments from Bank of America.

I recieved a missed call from HSBC today on my cell phone. I returned the missed call and talked to the female operator. She said that my phone number "the one that they just called" was not on file and I needed to give her my account number. So I went and looked it up. I started reading my account number when she either got disconnected or hung up in the middle of my reading my number. So I went and checked the messages. There was a message from a lady calling in reference to my Better Buisness Bureau claim. She left a 1-800 number for me to call her back. I called the 1-800 number and the lady asked the purpose of my call I began to explain about the message and the returned called I had made and she transfered me mid sentence. So now a man picked up. I asked him if he asked for my account number. I said before I give you that are you going to hang up on me or transfer my call before I finish. He said no. So, I gave him my account number. He said he didn't reconize the number and asked what it was for. I said it was for my motorcycle I had financed through them. He said that "I" called the wrong number. That kinda pissed me off that after all this I was told I was calling wrong numbers when I could see on my phone I had dialed the number I was given. So while he went on to explain how it was either my fault or possibly an operator slip up. I just said I am fed up with this for today and hung up. I can't believe a company this unorganized and rude has become so big. Personally I see them as a big bully who picks on the week.
