Hughesnet False promises. Slow connection speeds. No way to cut short 2 year contract without $400 fee. Internet
I signed up for hughesnet gen 3 two years ago. From the beginning I have been unsatisfied. The download limits are hidden in the fine print. You can't stream a full length movie like netflix unless you either buy a credit or wake up at 3am to download it. I called customer service multiple times to cancel the service and they have tried to sell me a new 2 year contract in exchange for upgrading to gen 4 with the promise of faster service.
I turned the wifi off on my phone because 3G is way faster than hughesnet. I've been paying $70/month for internet that is equivelent to dial up internet. It's worse than dial up because it's metered.
The dish is huge. It's about 3x bigger than my directv dish. Please don't do business with Hughes net. I have never paid so much for a service and been this unsatisfied.
