Hullison & Son Cartage, ripoff, A trucking company not to drive for. Montgomery Illinois
I was a Truck driver for this from 10-2003 to 1-2004. It was a short employment. But my last trucking job. After 10 years of truck driving.
On Jan 14 2004, I was driving out Flint MI. area. With a load car and truck tires. I drove a straight truck. I had only three stops that run. As I just got into Michigan. It start to snow that day. It look like it would be a light dusting of snow. Boy was wrong. As I got closer to my stops the heavier it got. By the time I got to my first stop. It was about 5" of snow already.
I took it slow for my 2cd stop in Fenton area. It was coming down very hard. Plows couldn't keep with the snow. The Speed limit was 55. I was down to 40-45. I seen a few car off side of the road. As I was reaching my exit. I was going over a bridge. I hit a patch of ice. and lost my truck. Almost ran into a car that being attending for, going of the road. I got the truck to steer away from that. I finally got the truck to stop in the medium strip of the Hwy. With the type of load I had turn the truck on the passenger side. I was not hurt at all.
It took about 3 hours to get the truck upright. The Trooper and Chief of Fire Dept. Look me over with that type of accident. They knew, I had my seatbelt on.
It me Two more days to get home. I had to take Drug test as I was out their. I was cleaned on that. I knew, when I got back. I WAS FIRED. Which knew that.
I sign up for unemployment. They put a denial on that. They tried it but lost. They kept on appeal all the way to County Circuit Court. During that year. Could fine a job. Got in debt. Up to eye balls. Refincance my house twice. And had to file Bankurpy. I tried to sue them but 10 lawyer's told me. I didn't have a leg to stand on.
This is most ****ty Company to work for.
