Totally Different Experience with the Humane Society of Inverness

In march of 2010, I adopted a beautiful ,Dachshund puppy from the Inverness Humane Society. He appeared healthy, but I took him to my vet anyway, just for an independent perspective. He was examined and found to be in perfect health. He was also neutered, clean, parasite free and had the best pedicure I've ever seen. Because he was beautiful and pure bred, I knew that the price I paid for him would be money spent caring for less adoptable animals. It was money well spent. I've since made additional donations to this group, and feel guilty because I've never had time to send them the  picures of my dog in his new home that the volunteers  requested.
Illness can occur in any pet population and can't automatically be assumed to be the result of poor care or animal abuse. Losing a pet is always tragic for the owner , but the "selling sick puppies" ripoff tone to the original complaint is uncalled for and premature. For me, it is not  the definitive appraisal of The Inverness Humane Society. There's another side to the story that should get attention as well.I strongly doubt that I'm the only adopter with a positive story to tell about this group.
