To make a longer story short. I bought a Hyundai Sonata in 2011, because of the warranty. Drove it at first and it drove great. Had to take it in for several recalls, but the dealer would always give me the run around and try to charge me for it. My car recently broke down. I had it towed to the dealer and the dealer tells me my warranty expired. My mileage was around 61k and the warranty finished at 60k so I had to pay $110 just so they'll look at it. They told me it was the starter cable, it would run me around $350 and I also had another issue the steering column, which runs about $1300. I spoke with the service manager at the dealer and he told me there was nothing that can be done. If I wanted any resolution I needed to contact Hyundai customer service. I did so and spoke with one lady who was clueless. I explained what was going on and she made a case number for me. She then transfered me to a manager. He quickly came on to say that Im screwed because I am passed the warranty. I was like cant you make an exception. I had taken my vehicle in for servicing every three months and this just happened. He was quick to say no. I asked to speak with someone above him and he hung up on me. Having had 2 new Suzuki's prior to this Hyundai Sonata I never had any issues with them. Drove them for way over 90k miles. I think Hyundais part are only designed to last up to 60k miles, then you start developing issues with the car. I advised everyone that this will be my last time owning a hyundai. They dont own up to there warranty.

“They dont own up to there warranty.”

Nothing in your report supports that claim. Your request for free service on an out-of-warranty vehicle was declined.

“You dont even know my situation”

We know you think you’re special.

“I am writing this to educate the public on how the Hyundai warranty works.”

It works as expected. In-warranty items are repaired at no charge and out-of-warranty items are repaired for a fee. That’s reasonable.

The car may be a piece of crap, I don't know.  However, it's still out of warranty and they quite obviously can't start making exceptions for everyone.

Of course, you probably thing they should only make an exception for you.

You are obviously an employee for Hyundai, as you cant even identify yourself. You need to grown up and mind your own business. You dont even know my situation, nor do you have any right to make any accusations and talk smack. I am writing this to educate the public on how the Hyundai warranty works. People are driving other vehicles from other car companies and getting more of their monies worth on the product. I understand the more you drive a car, it will obviously start wearing down, but after 61,000 miles. I dont think this is acceptable for quality standards. The warranty is not my complaint, it is the fact that the vehicle has issues. I have had it in for servicing many times, at the dealer. The dealer, nor Hyundai want to own up to it. I had my suzuki in 0 times except for routine maintenance. I have more class than to stoop down to your level.

You are WRONG!!! Its not that they are not living up to their warrenty. By your own words YOUR WARRENTY IS EXPIRED!!!!! So youre going to bad mouth them because they wont "make an exception"? You are one of the reasons they WONT make an exception. Instead of owning up to your responsability, you instead choose to blast them because they WILL NOT DO YOU A FAVOR!!!

What kind of slimeball are you? You KNEW your warrenty was expired. And you continue with actions like this. They have enough issues without some mouth breather making up fake incidents. And YES THIS IS A FAKE REPORT!!!!

Stop being a self-entitled jackass. Youre out of warrenty. If this was actually a real issue with your vehicle, you would have had it in BEFORE the warrenty expired. I hope you have to pay and pay and pay. This level of social blackmail NEEDS to be punished.

Just because they wont make an exception in your case is no reason to act as you have by posting this. All you have done is show that this car company doesnt play it fast and loose and has integrity. They even have more INTEGRITY then you. ATleast THEY were honest and told you that you were out of warrenty and there was nothing they could do. Youre just acting like a sleezy little asshat because YOU DONT WANT TO PAY FOR YOUR PROBLEM!!!!!!

Grow the hell up and start acting your age. Children pull BS like this. Youre supposed to be an adult, how about really acting like one...

And FYI...There is no speedometer on the individual parts. The effect you are speaking of is called ENTROPY!! It means that if you use something, each time you use it you increase the chances that it will break. Kinda showing not only your stupidity with that statement but your ignorance as well. Did you even GO to school???

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE look for and patronize a good independent shop.  You will find two of those guys on the radio in Orlando.  Read your warranty paperwork so that YOU can determine what is and isn't covered.
