Image Imports- Cydcor Dishonest hiring practices, pyramid scheme, door to door harassment Nashua New Hampshire
I was excited at first after I received a call back from Image Imports after I had sent them my resume on Monster.com. My first interview was 15 minutes, and they called me back for an ensuing 9-5 interview.
Image Imports is a "marketing" firm that is run by a company called Cydcor. They'll tell you things like "you were one of 2 people we called back out of 30." When I got there I heard them having a morning 'power-up' meeting, which consisted a bunch of shouting and chanting in unison that was accompanied by rhythmic hand clapping. Very cultish. Then the group of chanting 20-somethings disembarked, fists pumping with morning power-up enthusiasm, to their crappy cars (a result of crappy pay, no doubt).
Now, I was previously assured by the guy who first interviewed me that the job was not commission based and that it would require no door to door action. No, he assured me, I would be a management trainee in the field of marketing and PR. When I pressed for more specifics, he told me that, yes, in fact, I would be driving business to business and that my pay would be commission based. It was then that I realized that this company, started in May 2004 (my interview was July 04) was a fraud, lead by their conniving, 26 year old "CEO."
I must advise any one reading this against ever having anything to do with Image Imports or ANY Cydcor related industry. It's a pyramid scheme for 26 year old "executives" to get somewhat rich off of the fruitless labors of stupid recent college graduates, which, I am glad to say, I am not one of.
