I'll try to get "their side" from the BBB letter up here, they responded to the BBB but it was all bunk. Pretty much since she signed the credit card recipts they have you by the balls. I have sent the vet clink a link and a fax of this report the day I posted it. I did not expect them to find it on their own. I would be delighted for them to tell their side again. More later.

It's tragic what happened to your dog, but I don't see a ripoff. * The initial estimate was an ESTIMATE. Not a final price. * You were told you'd be called in the morning. You called them at 10:30. It's still "morning" until noon. * At first "she said yes to the expensive test", then had second thoughts. Maybe she wasn't clear? In any case, the vet initially agreed to waive the test fee. * The vet said the dog had a 50% chance of walking without surgery, and that the vet would proceed with the surgery if it were his dog. I'd probably do the same. * The surgery was approved, and payment arrangements were made (credit card info). You were told the $600 fee was going to be reapplied and you agreed. * After getting the test results, you were given the option of surgery. It makes no difference WHEN you found out the specifics of the results. Had they told you over the phone, would you have done anything differently? No. You still could have nixed the surgery when you went to the office. * Unfortunately, the surgery was a failure. It happens. There's no way a vet could/would have given you a 100% favorable prognosis. * There's nothing wrong with their demanding payment. Why would they NOT be paid for work that was performed? I don't quite get the "they won't release the dog's body" stuff... since you agreed to an ADDITIONAL payment to dispose of the dog's remains. * You were not coerced. You were upset (understandably so), but to accuse the vet of taking advantage of the situation is absurd. I'd be really interested in hearing the vet's side of this story. Perhaps you can send them a link and let them tell the other side? As you found out anyway, the BBB is useless! My guess is your credit card company agreed with the vet, no? You probably won't get too far in small claims court, either. How did the dog get injured, anyway? Was he hit by a car? Or was it some kind of degerative disease? Sorry for your loss...

Well, based on past experience with these people over the past several months, what did I expect? A call? A letter? Acknowledgement? I received zero response in the first 10 days of this posting. All we have ever wanted was for them to admit they mistreated us and a partial refund. That's it. Ignoring me is not an option. I want resolution, and fast.
