I called InPhonic and spoke with salesman who sold me three phones under one Cingular family share plan in 916 area code. Each phone was eligible for a $25 and a $75 rebate.

What I received three days later was two phones in a Cingular family share plan and one phone under a stand alone plan. All phones were programmed to 530 area code.

I called InPhonic. They either could not or would not correct their error. They directed me to contact Cingular and have them fix the problem.

Cingular fixed the problem and put all three phones in the 916 area code and under one family share plan as originally ordered. Further, they agreed to waive their fee for this as they acknowledged this was an InPhonic error.

I submitted my $25 rebates pursuant to their stringent requirements. Two rebate checks arrived, but the third was denied as InPhonic indicated I had cancelled my service. Not true! Many phone calls later, I eventually received the third $25 rebate.

I then submitted by $75 rebate requests. Two checks arrived. The third was denied as Inphonic indicated I had cancelled my service! Again, several phone calls later and I reach a supervisor who assures me the third rebate will be sent and acknowledged InPhonic's error. This individual also tells me that the salesperson was not authorized to sell more than two phones under one plan.

A few days later, however, I received an e-mail from the InPhonic Financial Operations Department advising third $75 rebate is denied because Cingular had removed their dealer code from my order and as they were not paid commission for the order, they will not honor the rebate. (How is this my fault?!)

Bottom line - InPhonic made numerous errors in processing my order and is now using one of their errors as an excuse to avoid payment of my final $75 rebate despite the fact that I have fulfilled all contractual obligations.

I received my missing $75.00 rebate today . . . eleven weeks after Doreen Dennis told me on 03/31/06 that I could expect it in four to six weeks. This company is just pathetic. No offense to Ms. Dennis, but this is a wildfire burning out of control and she's been given just a garden hose to do battle. Never, ever, again will I do business with this organization.

This morning I received a very kind e-mail from Doreen Dennis at the Office of the President at InPhonic. She says that because they value me as a customer, they will be cutting a check for my final $75.00 rebate and I should receive it within the next 4 - 6 weeks. This is the first signed communication I've received from anyone at InPhonic . . . and I must say that Ms. Dennis completely lived up to my expectations. I wish I had contacted her earlier as she apparently DOES have the ability to affect change.
