In September 2004 I was going through our phone bill and noticed a charge from August 29, 2004 from IntegreTel aka SkyNET for a 815 LD Calling Plan for $39.99. I immediately called SBC (Sept. 21, 2004) and told them that we didn't order this and was informed that it was done via computer and we would need to call the 800 number listed on the bill.

I called this number and was told that I would have to call another number 866-575-9638 to cancel the service and dispute the bill. I called this number and was told that I had ordered this over the internet. The day that we supposedly ordered it was 8-17-04 around 2 a.m. NO ONE is EVER on the internet at that time.

I told SkyNET to cancel the service that day 9-21-04 and to refund our money. They stated that they would and it would appear on the next billing cycle. I waited until the next billing cycle for the credit and instead of receiving a credit we received a double charge!! It was two charges of $39.99 each plus tax.

I immediately called IntegreTel again and they again forwarded me onto SkyNET. I was told that I had ordered it again and that the service was now cancelled, but they weren't going to refund any of my money! I told them this was unacceptable and I was calling my phone company.

I called SBC and they tried to reverse the charges, but were told that they couldn't do that by SkyNET. So it is now January 2005 and there are still $122.37 of charges still on my phone bill. I have refused to pay them and SBC is threatening to turn off our phone if we don't pay it in full.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Almost two years ago I had to go through the same thing. I paid the bill last time and was out about $40.00. I REFUSE to pay for something that I didn't order and didn't use.

What should I do now? How do I get my money back and get this resolved? I have thought of hiring an attorney or writing to the attorney general. Would either of them help? I am really worried after seeing this sight. Please help!
