I had a $40 charge on my phone bill from Integretel which claims to be a 900 number information service, I immediately called them, they asked for my name and phone number and put me on hold only to come back and advise me that their systems were down and I would need to call back. So I called my phone company and told them the charges on my bill were bogus.
The phone company offered to call Integretel (which took over 30 minutes of waiting for a rep to answer @ Integretel) - when the rep answered I ripped him a new one, telling him that I have already researched this company and their so called services they provide are nothing but a scam! Apparently somewhere on the internet they secretly get you to agree to download a program into your computer, but when you dial in it will call a 900 number instead of your service provider - which would explain why my internet has suddenly stopped working. Don't use your internet if you have problems until you get your phone bill!
Luckily I got them to remove the charges - if anything threaten to contact your state attorney general and the BBB! Also, have your company put a free block on 900 #'s and let Integretel know that these are illegal charges because you did not download anything or agree to their services.
