Intelius Beware of additional charges for civil judgement information Internet, Internet
I was researching information on an individual and consulted Intelius after looking at the sample background report they provide online. I specific the particular person I was looking for, paid the $50 fee and received a report, ostensibly on that specific person.
As I drilled into the civil judgement area i noticed that there were judgements listed for that person as well as variations of that person's name. As I attempted to drill into the judgement details the site was not able to determine that the person was not the person I was looking for, and Intelius requested an additional $50 to see the judgement information.
I stopped after investigating the thrid judgement in a row where it requested additional fees and called customer service. They noted that they do not have the ability to discern between different spellings of a particular name and that the results returned to me represent all names that have the specific First and Last name, regardless of the middle initial.
When I commented that their sample information did not show this or state that this would occur, and I wanted a refund, Intelius refused.
Beware of their unscrupulous behavior in the area of civil judgements if you use their service.
