International Profit Associates Unethical Business Practices Buffalo Grove Illinois

I was a Senior Area Manager (SAM)with IPA working from March 10, 2008 to April 9, 2008. This company preys not only on the small to medium size business owners but also on its employees. IPA maintains that SAM employees will get pre-set appointments, receiving an average of 2-3 appointments a day. After being in the field and receiving these appointments I quickly found out that these were not appointments. The BC's (Business Coordinators) who set the appointments, sends the Senior Area Managers on wild goose chases. The majority of time when you arrive to the client's location you are met with irate feelings from the client because they never even heard of IPA much less have an appointment. Additionally, there were many times when I arrived at the client's facility for a so called appointment when the business owner was not even at the site. I brought this to the attention of my Zone Manager and I was quickly informed that these were NOT appointments; that is, these were leads/opportunities. What a farce, the appointment form that every SAM receives state in bold letters "Appointments." IPA's job ads specifically state that you will receive pre-set appointments. This is Grievance #1.

Grievance #2. I made two (2) sales my first week in the field and then another two(2) sales the following week. When I turned in my resignation, I was informed via a Report that all of my sales were canceled. This Report has a "Status Code" Column and I was unaware in reading this Report what the Status Codes meant. I was informed by my Amigo that "XCL" meant that the sale was canceled by the client. Needless to say, I was in shock and resigned effective April 9, 2008. I was later informed that these codes (not the report) are covered in the IPA Manual. This was a Manual handed out in the SAM's training, however, it was never referred to by the instructor. Due to the fact that this is a very important report you would think they would cover this in their SAM training. Unfortunately, they did not cover this in training. IPA is a scam and should be shut down due to their unethical business practices.

Dear Richelle,

It is unfortunate that you had that experience with IPA. It seems that many people have that experience with IPA. I used to work there as well and did so for many years. Although my experience with them was positive I could not deal with their horrible reputation.

Since then my partners and I have started my own firm. Our consultants are mostly Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing trained so the results with our client are much better and we have a sterling reputation.

Wow! This company's corrupt practices even extend to their employees! The "analyst" who came to our business last week, Colin Moore, emphasized that our business MUST do the things that they obviously don't practice: Open communication with employees, Clearly defined policies and procedures, Being a "Company of Choice".
Richelle! Expose this sham outfit! Describe their operations to in this forum.
I am sorry you had to endure their abuse as an employee. You have the integrity to leave after less than month. Good for you! May you be blessed by opportunities which are upright, honest and dignifying!
