But, Why Give your credit# to a Recording that goes on and on

What i dont understand is: Why even provide your credit card # if the recording goes on and on and on?  Do you have to give your credit card# immediately at the onset of the answered call or do you listen to all of the ads then give your number at the end?

#1 ) if i  have to give my number at the onset before hearing anything related to the call, then thats my red flag to just hang up.

#2) If I "did" provide my credit card number to a recording, it will be with a service or company i have already established services with and simply paying my bill.

#3)  at which point do you receive a confirm# for the transactions?  did you give out your credit card#, go through all the adds then hang up before you 'confirm' the order and then did they still bill you?

The author did not pay attention to the commercial. It clearly informs the viewer of two items to be purchased. The first book at 19.95+shipping of 9.95 then goes on to say a new item will be shipped at $10 additional. 39.95 is the price that the commercial finally comes down to.

I must admit the recording is a bit shady though. Having a card charged by automatic cashier is a bit bewildering.

you  would  charge more on my  credit card   i  took about 1 hour on  the phone with  me  telling the  recording no  no  to  about 20 offeers to  purchase  the  last offer i say  no  and  hung up  on the recording. yes the free book  was  not on  tv   nether was  the other 20  product the  recording tried to charge  my credit  card  with. the tv ads  say $19.95  that all.what  if  you  charge  my  card  for $200 or  $300  dollars it  would been  my  lost.

You mentioned they charge you $39.98. on your card.

I don't know exactly what you got for that, but it seems as though you pay $19.95 for the book + $9.95 shipping and handling.  They give you the additional books for free that Anthony mentions but you have to pay $9.95 shipping and handling for those as well.  Add all that up and it comes out to $39.85
