Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Mother and Son business It's About Time Master Matchmaker JoAnn and Steven Ward are unprofessional and degrading.

They tell you they have many matches for you, then tell you you need plastic surgery after you pay them money to give you your matches.

JoAnn Ward, the Master Matchmaker, threatened to call my ex-husband and family members and futher degrade me.

JoAnn Ward, the Master Matchmaker, has evident anger management issues and throws tantrums in front of you as a client when you ask for a different choice than the one she wants you to date.

JoAnn Ward, the Master Matchmaker, set me up with a friend of hers who was not even a member of her service. She found him on match.com and did not even perform a criminal background check on him as promised on my contract.

BEWARE OF THIS MATCHMAKING SERVICE. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR WEBSITE. IT IS A SCAM SCAM SCAM! TESTIMONIALS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM.

I can't believe it. The writer and respondant's stories are nearly identical to mine. I met JoAnn and one of her associates over a year ago. Initially, they were very professional. We met for over 2 hours and discussed the particulars of what I wanted and what I expected. They showed me over 2 dozen men that they said would be "perfect" or good matches for me. With that being said, contracts were signed and we also discussed distance and other particulars.

It took quite a while to hear from them. They matched me with someone who clearly was very sedentary (while I am very active). When I said something to them about this, the associate appeared displeased. The second match was worse. He was about 15 years older than me, retired, and liked to go antiquing. Antiquing! While nothing is wrong with that, I do not consider that exciting or active. He and I spoke on the phone. We agreed we had nothing in common, we had different energy levels, and we were probably match together only because we were close in proximity. Not long after I received a call from JoAnn who told me that, basically, while she couldn't tell me to have plastic surgery a woman at a certain age should seriously consider it because I looked at least 10 years older than I am and no one wants to go out with me. Then, I sent the photos to friends and quizzed them on how old they thought the photo made me look. They told me about 10-15 years younger. When I shared this fact with JoAnn she hit the roof.

It took about 6 months to be match with someone else. He was nice, but we didn't have a lot of chemistry. The second date I went on was the same thing. I was contacted about another man and was told they would follow up, but that was over 3 months ago.

They still owe me a date. If I don't hear from them I have to chase them down. JoAnn is insulting. In the meantime, I've had countless dates from interesting, intelligent, educated and successful men who find me attractive- and ARE NOT from this awful service.

This service costs thousands and thousands of dollars. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! If you want to spend lots of money and be demeaned, go to a dominatrix.

Suggestion for It's About Time Master Matchmakers report

#4Author of original report

I was a client of JoAnn Ward's of It's About Time Master Matchmakers over a year ago and I went through the exact same thing. JoAnn and her son were very nice to me when they were trying to get me to join their service but then began personal attacks and harsh langouage and criticism about me. JoAnn Ward would get so angry she would hang up on me and leave threatening messages to take me to court. I stayed away from a matchmaking service as a result of poor business practices and abusive treatment by It's About Time owners JoAnn and Stevn Ward, but then found Jill Elliott's service. She was much kinder and much less expensive. I met more people, too. I don't think anyone deserves to be treated the way we were, and I completely understand what you went through. Try to keep in mind that this particular company is in it for the money and not all matchmakers are like that. Also, I have been told that JoAnn Ward had been blackballed by other services in the past and even by a talk radio station due to her foul language and business practices, which is why she was forced to start her own business. I know this may not make you feel better, but maybe someone else will see this as I have. Best of luck to you and my best advice is not to let this bad experience with a bad company ruin your chances of finding someone special. You deserve it as much as anyone else. I am sorry you had to go through this, too. Sincerely, A.H. Philadelphia, PA
