I went to JB in February 2013 highly recommended by a co-worker. Interested in a 3 row suv, I was given a cell number for Millie and she assured me that they had a Volvo suv that I could get into since she didnt have the CX-9 that I wanted. I spoke with her multiple times prior to going to dealership, including the night before, to verify that the vehicle was still available. Once I arrived at JB, Millie told me she sold the Volvo truck, but "its ok because it had too many miles on it."

Since the Volvo was gone, I was given an Expedition to test drive. I was told to turn around by the gentleman riding with me after about 2 blocks but in that time I could tell they were trying to put me in a very bad car. The transmission was clearly slipping, the interior of the car was falling apart, seats torn and the radio didnt work. The second vehicle i test drove was a Mazda 6. Millie and I came to the agreement that I would pay on the Mazda 6 for 6 months and use all those payments and the trade in value of the car to go towards a down payment of an suv that JB would purchase from an auction after about 4 months. Millie assured me that by doing this, I would have a bigger down payment and they would report to the credit bureau which in turn would help raise my credit score by showing revolving credit.

Apparently the financing would take a couple days but Millie was adament that I would be able to get approved for and take the Mazda 6. In the time being, she wanted to make sure I could leave the lot with something so she was going to put me in a Chrysler Town & Country Touring. I specifically asked if I needed to test drive the car because I noticed the paperwork I was signing was "As Is" and expressed my concern about being stuck in a car I didnt want and being sold a lemon. I was continuously told not to worry about it because I was not keeping the van, I will only have it for a couple of days.

The co-worker that referred me to JB let me know that they will accept a small down payment but alter the loan before sending it to the bank to show that I put down more money than I actually had. Thats exactly what Millie did. I put $800 down but she told me she would tell the bank I put down $1500. Millie also has a friend that is an agent for multiple insurance companies and got me a great price on car insurance.

I took the van home on a thursday and was told to give them until Monday or Tuesday to get financed for the Mazda 6. On Tuesday I went to JB to find out what was going on, my co-worker told me you have to stay on Millie to do the work because they take forever doing everything, but I was told the loan still hadnt gone through. "We are working on it, just give us a couple more days." At that time I again expressed my uneasines about getting stuck with the van because it too had obvious transmission issues, needed an oil change, a tune up, 2 new front tires, a right break light, it only had one working windshield wiper. Not to mention the fact that I was stranded at a Walmart that saturday because the battery completely went out. Upon calling Millie's cell, I was told my her boyfriend Manny that they dont have bad batteries in their car, that it was the alarm preventing the car from cranking and stated "There is nothing wrong with the battery. If I come out there and it cranks up, are you going to pay me for my time?!" Manny was very disrespectful. And no one ever came. I attempted to jump the van with my sister’s car but had no such luck. Later that night my dad came out to the van and jumped the battery with his pick up truck. He told me the battery was not grounded correctly. The battery was replaced that Sunday.

Millie ended up selling the Mazda 6 but then promised me a Chrysler Pacifica. I couldn’t test drive the Pacifica because it was getting worked on. I told my landlord at the time about JB so she could get a van for her daycare. As she was there speaking with Manny, she asked about the Chrysler and he said “Oh, you don’t want that, it has a bad transmission.” Every time I inquired about the Pacifica, I was told they were still working on the financing and nothing is wrong with it. Each visit I had to JB, the Chrysler was in the garage or hooked up to a battery charger. At this almost a month has gone by. I never received one phone call about the financing or approval; however, I received 2 letters stating that I was approved. Each time I asked about this, I was given different bogus responses.

It appeared to be an issue with getting approval so about 2 weeks after taking the van home, I provided Millie with a letter from the IRS showing I paid an almost $6000 debt that was on my credit in hopes it would help the process. I was again assured that Millie’s sister, who handles the financing, would get to work on it asap.

Needless to say, the Chrysler Pacifica was sold as was the other 2 cars I was promised. At this point its been about 2 months and there has been no change or word about anything. I believe it was the week of April 21st, I visited Millie again. Completely fed up, I asked her how much I was approved for since her excuse consistently was that the bank wasn’t giving them enough money for the vehicles she was trying to put me in. Although she had told me previously, she all of a sudden didn’t know the amount I was approved for. When she asked her sister about the amount, she stated that I was denied from the beginning due to the $6000 debt, which I had provided a letter showing it was paid in February. I became upset because it was obvious at this point that they had not been working on my loan and Millie admitted that I wasn’t priority. She then stated that there was a Jeep Cherokee on the lot that she could get me in, if I gave her $500. I noticed that the jeep was $2000 down. Since she told the bank I gave her $1500, she wanted and additional $500. My question to her was how did she know I needed another $500 if she didn’t know the amount I was approved for AND how do I not already have the $500 if my payments were going towards another car? She proceeded to tell me how much money I actually put down and how it wasn’t enough to get into what I wanted. I extremely upset and told her that if that were the case she should have never accepted my money and promised all the things she did and I could have went somewhere else. I continued to try and get answers, including asking what she had on the lot that she could put me in at that moment other than the raggedy van. I got no answer which let me know she never intended on putting me in anything else, nor had they been working on my loan. Millie was clearly agitated and refused to speak to me any longer, but had Manny pull me outside, away from other customers, to speak to me. He promised me he would have Millie’s sister work on it and I wasn’t going to have to put down the full $500, just make the payment I missed while I was on my honeymoon and the payment that was coming up. He assured me that someone would call me the next day. I never heard from them again.

I moved out the city so when my payment was due that Friday, I decided to just wait until Monday, mind you, I had never been late or missed a payment besides the one back in March when I was on my honeymoon. By Sunday morning I was receiving calls from my references saying that JB was going to get my license suspended if I didn’t bring them the car by that night, they provided personal information, told how much I was paying, when I made my last  payment, which was the previous due date, and was very disrespectful. I know 2 people personally who are months behind with JB and they did not act this way with them. They supposedly have a reputation of being very lenient and working with people. I guess that wasn’t the case with me because I began asking questions that Millie could not answer. I feel I was scammed from the beginning. I do believe Millie works with a representative at Auto Binder AA Auto, Home & Commercial Insurance INC at 9645 E Colonial Dr Orlando, FL 32817 and  they have a way to suspend drivers license. I do know that I was on auto pay and just found out that my payment didn’t go through in April or May, although after it didn’t go through in March I made sure it would come out. I  haven’t checked yet, but Im pretty sure when I do, I will have a suspended drivers license.

As of May 19th, JB has recovered their van but I will not go down without a fight. I do know their other location has recently been on the news and now this location needs to be exposed for falsifying bank loans and selling cars that they know have major issues.
