Jeanette Chaix Regalia Tibetan Terrier Also Got a Puppy with Hip Dysplasia and Promise but No Delivery of Papers Jackson California
Also purchased a Tibetan Terrier puppy from Jeanette Chaix in Jackson about 10 years ago with promises that AKC papers and vaccination records would follow. Despite repeated mailed notes and telephone calls, never received a response and so eventually gave up. Within 6 months, a visit to the vet with a referral to a specialist revealed that my beloved puppy had dysplasia in the front and back paws. Resulted in hip surgery at 7 months and additional 3 months of hydrotherapy. He has sensitivity in his shoulders and cannot be picked up without great care.
I have never sought compensation for my dog's medical expenses, but I am angry that a breeder would put up for sale a puppy with such major health issues. While I could afford to and was willing to bear the costs, others might not and I do not like to consider what might have happened to this poor puppy otherwise.
I found Jeanette to be a very pleasant, likable person and placed a lot of trust in her as a breeder. But my experience with her has been poor. Through the years I have met other Tibetan Terrier owners and inevitably am asked who was the breeder for my handsome Tibetan. I share with them Jeanette's name but will not recommend her and suggest they form their own opinion, should they want to use her. For a woman who has been a breeder for 30 years with what others have perceived as an excellent reputation, I don't understand how she could not have known my puppy had dyslplasia, not disclose it upfront, and promising but never sending the registration papers.
