jiffy lube #570 rip-off wrong oil. bar ard152866 California
on august 2nd, 2014 i let a friend use my car. i told her to go to jiffylube to get an oil change while she was out. she called me when she got there. i told her which oil to ask for and everything i needed done.
she told them exactly what i said and they handled it. at least thats what i thought. after they were done she called me and let me know that she was leaving.
a few minutes later she called me again tellin me that my engine was making a strange sound and that she jus wanted to pull over. so i told her to do exactly that. she left my car there and locked.. when i got off work i went to my car and tried to start it and heard the noise.
i knew i couldnt drive it so i called a tow truck and towed it to where i know it could sit which was my mechanic shop. i called my mechanic since he wasnt there at the time which was around 10pm, and i told him what happened. he told me from the jump that he already heard a lot of the same complaints from jiffylube from other customers.
he told me that they probably didnt put any oil in it at all or they put the wrong oil. the next morning i went to the shop and they checked it. my mechanic said he didnt want to touch anything unless the ppl from jiffylube were here to witness so that they didnt accuse him of anything. so we never touched it til the insurance pepole from jiffylube were there to witness and take pics.
they told the people from jiffylube that they think the wrong oil was put into my car. they also said they didnt even think it was oil they put in at all. that it was some other kind of fluid which caused damage to my engine.
so we go back and fourth and back and fourth with jiffylube jus to receive a letter saying they will not pay for it and that i would jus have to take them to small claims court. that there wasnt any evidence that they caused the damage to my car. before ma car arrived there, there was nothing wrong with it.
a year before that i jus got my heads rebuilt. the engine was basically new and i took good care of it. if somethings wrong with your car, jiffylube will let u know with a list telling u everything they thought was wrong. that list says nothing at all except the kind of oil they put in it. til this day i still havent driven my car. this has caused me all kinds of money. caused me to get laid off from work. plenty of headaches and lots of stress.
