Jim Walter Homes Still cheating customers Cayce Texas
I am suprised that Jim Walter homes are still in business.
I had the same experiences with the Cayce South Carolina office.
My home was built in Lexington SC.
When I complained about the defects and contract deviations during the construction I got no where.
I finally went to the county office and requested a re inspection.
The home failed the next 5 inspections, even the county inspectors were disgusted.
Jim Walter blamed me for the failures and said I had no business contacting the county.
I hired my own inspector and then an attorney to handle the situation as I was getting no where with the company.
In the end they bought my property and paid me for my well an septic.
All of this was at a great lose as I had much more invested.
Attorney fees, Private inspector fees, 1000. for carpet all lost.
They claim their contract allows for crooked walls, bowed studs, uneven ceilings etc.
Dont let them fool you, they have to build to industry standard.
Yes I had the trash problems also along with the builders smoking pot and drinking while working.
I hope people read this and just stay away from them.
