I purchased a John Deere push mower for $400.00 a couple of years ago. The mower is kept in ashed and not eposed to the elements. Further It is washed and wiped down after every use and all maintenace is done at recommended intervals. The mower deck is rustiing badly , with large areas of paint flaking off. I contacted John Deere HQ and was advised to take it to a local authorized service center, Central Equipment of Hammonton. I took it there where they kept it . I was told they would be taking photos of the unit and forwarding them to a John Deere representative for review.
I waited and never heard back so I followed up after 2 weeks. Central Equipment told me that my claim was rejected and to come pick up the mower. I asked for the name and number of the representative and was told their policy is that no one speaks directly to customers and the issue was closed! Central Equipment of Hammonton ws rude and unprofessional. I followed up with a letter to the President of John Deere, Samuel Allen. He apparently has fostered this culture of disregard for its' customers as he has not responded to my issue.
