John Lane's Tax Sale Lists Tax Sale Lists will not refund $800+ after cancelling course. purchased on 1/14, cancelled 2/14 but was told it had to have been cancelled on 2/13 in order to get a refund. Westminster, Colorado
I purchased this course for 2 pymts of $416 each on January 14 2012. The first $416 was taken the day I placed my order. It arrived on the 20th. After opening the package, we started viewing the dvds and reading the manual.
Several days after reading and researching, I wrote not only John Lane, but his daughter, Lindsay, regarding when the other 1/2 payment was due. I wrote approx 5 times and rec'd no response from either person.
We live in VA, so we started calling the treasure's office in several counties as John indicated in his video. The manual states that VA is a tax deed state, but after calling 2 different counties, we were told VA is not a tax deed state.
John also mentioned that SC was a great state for tax overbids. I called two counties (one on the west side of the state, the other on the east) in SC and was told, SC does not have tax sales.
February 14, 2012 I checked my bank account and the 2nd payment was taken from my account leaving me overdrawn. I called the 866-629-5166 and spoke with Cody, who said the emails we were sending were strictly promotional emails and not to be responded to. No where on those emails was that stated. She also said we were not entitled to our refund, since we had to call yesterday 2/13 in order to get the full refund. She mentioned, even if we had called 2/13 there was no way the package would have reached them at the end of 30 days so even calling yesterday we would not get our refund. What kind of scam is this.
I am appauled that businesses can practice this way.
