I was a recent employee of JRP and I can tell you..be careful. Ask to see your child's "audition tape" after taping. It probably isn't even recorded. I know becuase I has that job. Also during the seminar. "And this is sos and so the head of our soap opera department.."
That's a lie. I was introduced many times as a "Soap Opera Director" and never was. I never even played on one! The game is this call for an audition, seminar, video, they call you back (if your occuptations qualify, parents) and then Lo and beholed your child is in JRP! After pay $$$$$. Oh and those Ta;ent Directors, there's one by the name of Sarah and Nicole and Lord knows who else, but they've never really worked in the industry except for when they were a child..maybe. Just be careful.
I'm a mother and they wanted to use me to target other parents. Not to mention being wired for their competion. And by the way you should hear the language that is used when no one is around. I complained to the "President" of the company and was basically told "so what".
Do you really want your kids attending something like this? Stay away. There is many other options if you want stardom instead of watching your bank account turn to dust.

I'm sorry the JRP you worked at worked that way, but not all JRPs are like that. We always tape the auditions and never have misrepresented ourselves as "Head of Soap Opera Department". We don't even have one and have never said we did! Everyone who said they used to work in the industry (or said they currently work in the industry) is being honest. I appreciate you looking out for other parents and trying to steer them in the right direction, but please don't put all the JRPs in the same pile. The one I used to work at was always very professional, honest and upfront about everything.
