Complaint Review: John Trader SA Chiasso - Internet

I was a victim of this company for about a year and I check this site quiet frequently. I saw that the owner had responded and left a number. The number that can be called is [DELETED]. The owner said the 14.95 is the membership fee. You have to order the ciggeretts seperatly. So I told him to cancel the membership and I wanted my money returned. He said he was only able to return for the past month. I accepted and Haven't had a charge since then. Maybe you can call and raise hell yourself. Good luck. Don't feel too bad, they got me too. Couldn't figure out what the charge each month $14.95 was , had no idea there would be a monthly charge. I never bought a single carton but did knowingly pay the 9.95 to "join". My bank had me cancel my card and re-issue w/new number. I was told as long as they had my info they could keep debiting.Was a real pain having to notify every account of the new billing info. I did find a legitimate site to buy my cigs on, very good prices, fast delivery , NO "hidden costs" Good Luck!! And be SURE to have your bank issue a new card with a different number!!!

Hey Nicole. I buy all our cigs online and we are paying 12 bucks a carton for one brand and 10 a carton for the other. We don't have a credit card either, we have them shipped COD and pay by money order (what allnative requests for type of payment for COD). I can call either an 800 number or order online. We've been doing this for a couple of years now and have saved a bundle since we go thru about 15 cartons a month. Our last order was $161.85 which included 15 cartons of cigs, the shipping and handling and the COD charge. Buying cigs online from the Indians saves, but there are a lot of bad companies out there. Research before you do business with any of them to make sure they are good and then start saving! /me waves to Darren. LOL.

Hi Nicole, I was interested in your report and I looked at the Frequently Asked Questions and they have a blurb in there about charging a monthly fee... "Why do you charge a membership fee? The low monthly membership fee allows us to cover the cost of selling cigarettes at the lowest prices on earth." I don't know if they had anything else as far as making this clear when you were entering the information for the order. It seems that whenever something looks to good to be true, it is. To be fair to them, if a person is buying 4 or 5 cartons a month and is aware of the monthly fee then it might be a good value. I don't know. I do know that something as important as a monthly fee shouldn't be hidden in the FAQ section or in the fine print. It should be in BOLD and clearly stated. That wouldn't be a rip off or deceptive. Instead, they obviously hope to hook in as many people unaware as they can. Heck, I am not an international lawyer or anything, but I really am wondering if they can legally sell cigarettes from "Bonded Warehouses" and avoid federal and state taxes. After all, that is where the savings is coming from... all the taxes we pay for cigarettes. Good Luck,
