Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My wife and I signed a Purchase Agreement with Homeowners Wholesale, located initialy at 200 South Pointe Blvd, Summerville, SC 29483.  The Purchase Agreement stated the purchase, options, and pricing of a four-bedroom manufactured home unit that was to be delivered to our home property.  We were told that we needed to provide a down payment in order to access the website that would enable us to select our paint, trim, carpet, and other options. We paid Homeowners Wholesale $21,000 via ACH transfer from our bank account.

In August 2017, after many phone conversations with various sales reps, we submitted a development permit with our county, and we were ready for delivery.  All the numbers and people we used to call were unavailable or unresponsive.  Most of the time, we received voice mail recordings. Our messages were unreturned. Finally, we were instructed to "call Jon Benson in Utah" and given the number 843-628-3613.

Mr. Benson stated that Homeowners Wholesale was “doing great in business”. When asked about the other reps we had dealt with, he told me, “You will be dealing with only me from here on out.”  He assured me that he would deliver on his promise of delivering my home.

Four days ago, we tried to contact the company again and received a recording that the number we called was not receiving any more calls.  We found 20 customer complaints with the Better Business Bureau citing fraud against Homeowners Wholesale along with a statement indicating that the company "had run out of funds and was no longer in business".  A response from the business principal stated that he had "attempted to contact as many customers" as he could to inform them that the company had gone under.

We, like many others defrauded by this company, demand restitution for our hard-earned money lost.
