Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Jones Brothers Painting started a project on our home on July 17, which they did not complete over 50%. They took $750 and we seek $200 in a REFUND.

This inexplicable and tireless journey began on July 14, 2018, when the owner of Jones Brothers Painting came to our home for an estimate. We had an understood window of 10-12p; which he showed for around 1p. This is the start of the professional challenges. We had a 2 phase project-PHASE 1 Mst. bdroom. sand, paint to show distinct lines on half walls (other part panel), ceiling; Mst. bth. room, sand, paint trim/baseboards, paint a small wall, stain wood casing, paint casing and 1 door for the room. Also, 2nd bedroom sand, paint half wall, panel, closet, 2 door casings, and 2 doors, & ceilings. PHASE 2- LV/DR combo to sand, paint ceilings, trim/baseboards, and full walls. We agreed on $1,500 for all labor and we supply all the materials used. Initially, very helpful, even providing his HD Pro# to help with paint purchase cost.

Unfortunately, his reference to another contractor fell thru that was to help us re-install the trim/baseboard and repair our wall prior to Jones Brothers being able to paint. They came to look at the property and possible project on July 17; because he was a NO SHOW for our original estimate visit on July 16. Needless to say, we never heard from them again. So that said, the owner of Jones Brothers painting and I agreed to just complete PHASE 1 for $750; half the project cost.

The morning of, they started the work on July 17th, which they were almost an hour late for; appt. @ 9a they came at 9:45a. A group of 3 men showed. They stayed a full day, until around 5p. I then shared with the owner upon departure that we would need Thursday/Friday off because I am dealing with a criminal trial for my mothers' death and needed those days. They agreed and stated, they could easily start back on Monday, July 23-which did not happen.

It was stressed in the beginning the urgency of completing this project and the reasons behind them. The owner, acted as if to truly understand and could accomplish the indoor task with no hiccups.

Jones Brothers came back on July 18th, for a brief 3-4 hours, arriving around 10a and quickly leaving around 2p, claiming they had to leave. Because they had accomplished some work and assured us of their return, stupidly, we paid them for the PHASE 1 in full of $750. Bad move on our part. So No Call on Monday, July 23, or Tues. July 24. I then text owner, to inquire about their return. He stated he could come and finish on Wednesday, July 25th; of course, he did not. He then texts back stating an emergency had taken place and he would call me on Friday or Saturday. I stressed to him our urgency and if there were others he could utilize to finish us up! He stated," he will call me.". We also sought to understand the urgency, but just got "I'll call you." July 26th contacted to see what time Friday 27th or Saturday 28th we could finish..No Response..just an "I got you all I will call," text. At this point, we contacted owner on July 29th for a refund of our money. We did get in contact and both parties agreed on $200 refund; even though Jones Brothers Painting didn't even complete half the job. But this is all the funds for this project we have and cannot afford to have our money taken from us by Jones Brothers Painting and they did not honor their company integrity by completing the job, nor was it satisfactorily done. Which owner and crew were aware off and were to complete, but never came back after they received their money from us of $750.

Even though we do not feel $200 is a fair return for what they did, we will settle with it to at least recoup some of our extreme loss in money, time, and materials. The owner, Brian Jones has agreed to the refund numerous times but still has NOT honored the refund.

At this point, it is obvious this company is a really bad situation and a total ripoff. Warning others to please BEWARE of Jones Brothers Painting.
