Complaint Review: Joseph Marrazzo - Newtown Pennsylvania

 STAY FAR AWAY FROM Joseph - Joe -MARRAZZO - JAM Enterprises - Custom Homes and Landscaping!!! My wife and I and our kids have been living like animals for 9 months because of how poorly of a job he has managed our addition. We have been breathing and walking on insulation, Sheetrock, and construction debris because he would not clean up or cover up anything. We failed inspections 4 times. The township inspector even yelled at him like a child because he just would not follow through with what was needed to be repaired and completed in order to pass inspection. Marrazzo attempted to save money by not following the architectural plans and decided to change the roof design which lead to an inadequate beam size. I had to a contact an engineer and he said that a catastrophe can occur if he does not install an additional large beam to take the load of the roof. Marrazzo said that it would be ok and that it didn't need the additional beam but I had to force him to install it for the safety of our family. My house could have collapsed because of his greed! His sub contractors would ask me about this and that and I would say just follow the plans, but their response would be that Joe never gave them the architectural plans! How can he not give his subs the plans so it can be done correctly!

Then he installed windows that were not what we had on the plans. When I questioned him about them he said they were an upgrade. But instead we found out that he lied and that they are the cheapest windows you can buy. He installed new siding and after a few weeks it started separating and bulging out. It makes a vibrating sound when it's a windy day. He also installed a new roof and a month later shingles were already falling off and the roof is leaking when it rains. When I had asked him about fixing them. He would never do it. 2 months goes by and he still did not fix anything and then more started to separate and fall off. And this is all while his guy are still working here doing our project. My wife and I were thinking can you imagine when he would finally be completed and 6 months later if we were to have an issue and call him he would never come back to fix things. If he doesn't do it while his workers are here then he will never come back later down the line if we needed​ something to be fixed. I've asked him several times about moving a heater exhaust vent that is under a doorway entry that fails code and we also could be breathing exhaust gasses from it but he does not seem to care.

His plumber did not install our tub correctly and did not put a support wall for the tub. We also have exposed electrical wires from when they were taking things down for the addition that needed to be remove but he never comes to inspect to see if his guys or his subs installs things correctly and nor does he even care. And when you bring it up to his attention he says he'll take care of it but never does and doesn't care about what or how people are living through this whole process. We have had mice come into our home because he did not close off and seal the area properly. We had been living throughout the winter with our house at 50-55 degrees because he did not put up a temporary wall. We wear jackets in the house all the time because it is very cold in here. He was supposed to build a temporary wall but he did not, and when I asked him several times he said he would but he would never do it. They used my wife's shoe rack as a work bench and damaged all her shoes. His workers used our brand new washer and dryer as a step ladder and severely dented them. He promised he would repair/fix them but never did.

So what we had figured out is that he never completes what he starts and then expects payment for uncompleted items that he never finishes. Don't let him hurt you or your family the way he has hurt us. By the time you start to realize what his real intentions are it's too late and you get screwed out of alot of money and then having to hire someone else to fix all the screw ups and damages he has created.
