We have a Juniper credit card with a $4200 credit line. I went online the other day to check my balance and pay my account and noticed they lowered my credit line down to $1900 for now apparent reason! Our current balance is around $1800. We've never been late or gone over our limit.

I made a call to customer support (I use that term loosely) and was told that our credit line was reduced due to our current usage. So they lowered our credit line down to our balance to force us to go over the limit and hit us with an over the limit charge. I was told by them that they couldn't re-establish our higher credit line but they also told me I have an excellent credit history. So by having an excellent credit history they LOWER our credit limit and try to force penalties on us. That is not very good customer service.

I demanded to talk to a supervisor. They told me no one was available but they took my number and said someone would call me within 72 hours! I asked to cancel the card and they said they couldn't do it but wanted me to call back in a WEEK to try and cancel it again!

I try to keep all my credit cards over 50% available credit. By them lowering my credit limit to my balance, that shows the credit reporting agencies that I'm a high risk and then that hurts my credit score! This credit card company is purposely ruining people's credit scores while trying acquire more penalties from their customers. Stay away from this company! If you have an account, close it!

Without notice they just lower the credit when you get close to the limit. Us the tax payers just gave these banks BILLIONS and this is what they do to thanks us.

We had a credit limit of 2000 and they lowered it to 500 saying . WE had a zero balance on our card and have not used it in over a year. We were travelling for Christmas and used it 2 times a total of 89.00 which I will pay off in full next week. They said they lowered it because we didnt use it but now its messing with our credit score because they took 1500 credit away.. American express did the same thing. All these banks /credit card are havin money problems and they blaming the consumer and lowering our credit even if we had perfect credit .. It sucks but its the sign of the time..
