Paid $29.95 for a service which purported to enable the free download of karaoke songs. Was sent an address to use for downloads; 3 search engines returned "No such address" In order to use the non-existant address, you must then pay $30 for a program to "unzip" the information which cannot be reached anyway. Wish I had never heard of karaokeinfo in the first place!

Lifetime Support is Not Accurate

Karaokeinfo does not offer lifetime support as they would have you believe. At any moment, with no advance notice, they will label you as "inactive" and force you to re-join and pay an ever increasing fee to do so. They will even lock you out of their website in an effort to make you pay a new membership fee. I have been a member for over five years and have no problem with the service they offer, it's actually a very good site, however, do not think for a minute your membership is good for any amount of time because it's not, you can be forced to re-join at any time, and your past relationship means nothing to them, you will have to pay the full amount regardless of how long you've been a member.

Bob, you are suspect

Bob, you are suspect. How can you sit there and say you don't offer something on that website and anyone can go to it and see you do? Am I missing something here? It's pretty visible.

It is a rip off

#4Consumer Suggestion

I own a company that writes FREE software for converting karaoke CD+G discs to MP3 plus the grahics file, called MP3+G Toolz. This individual at http://www.karaokeinfo.com/ is selling information on how to (illegal in most countrys) download copyrighted karaoke files free from the internet, using IRC. The channel they provide is closed, and even if it was, it is illegal to download copyrighted music / karaoke files. Everyone with half a brain knows that. Plus, he is distributing my software, and charging for it! Not only that, but he has never contacted me for permission to distribute my software in a bundle with other software/information. He is also distributing registration keys for another software, CDRWin http://www.goldenhawk.com/ without their permission. This person Bob Smith is a scammer, and a rip off artist, selling "information" and downloads with out permission of the copyright owners. If you have been taken by the karaoke info website, ask your credit card company or paypal to refund the money, as it is a charge you did not ask for, and the product was not what it was advertised. Thank you.

Wrong website?

#7REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, January 13, 2005

Hi, I own & operate karaokeinfo.com. We have over 6000 customers worldwide and have no record of anyone named Maurice in Rhode Island. My guess: This person is referring to another website or company. In addition, we have no $30 product nor do we refer any customer to other websites after making a purchase. We appreciate websites like this and encourage consumers to do research before making ANY online purchase. However, it's imperative that the company is informed ASAP so they have an opportunity to review and respond. This was brought to my attention by a potential customer ~10 months after being posted. :( KaraokeInfo has been in business for nearly 5 years and, besides this false report, there's not a single negative post at any consumer website on the entire Internet. Anyone can call me personally at 586-758-3004 if they have questions regarding my website, business or this bogus "ripoff report". Thank you! :) Sincerely, Bob Smith KaraokeInfo http://www.karaokeinfo.com

New to computers and the Internet? I think so!

First, an address is an address. Why would you need a search engine? Simply type in the address that you were given on your browser's ADDRESS line? As in, http://www.(the address as they gave it to you) And you write: "In order to use the non-existant address, you must then pay $30 for a program to "unzip" the information which cannot be reached anyway." Trust me on this one. To "unzip" a file is a very simple and quick process and you certainly don't need to pay $30.00 for a program to do it. My suggestion is to talk to someone who actually knows something about the Internet and computers before you write a Rip-Off Report.
