Last April 2009 my wife and I decided to contract with a pool company to build a lap-pool in our home. After interviewing with several companies, we finally decided to go with Nationwide pool. When they first came to our home to give us their estimate I explained to them that we had FPL, Gas, Comcast wires runing throughout our back yard and that we were aware that we would not be able to put in a big pool. Their salesman, a man by the name of Santiago told my wife that he would be able to contruct a lap-pool 8.5 feet wide by 31 feet long, and based on that we sigend a contract with Nationwide Pool. The contract has a claus that states that customers have 72 hours(3 days) to back out of the deal and on the second day my wife and I agreed that $26,000.00 for a lap-pool was not in my opinion a good investment so we contacted Santiago who would not answer his phone or return any messages, so my wife called the main office and was able to speak to Mr. Keith Stuart who told her he would come to our home the next day and personally bring us our deposit. Mr. Stuart did come to our house the next day only without the deposit check we had given his salesman and told us he did not wanted to loose our business and was willing to drop the price to $23,000.00. So after going back and forth for some time we finally agreed to have the lap-pool built. After that the nightmare began, the pool that was suppose to take 7-8 weeks to complete took almost 12 weeks, the stamped concrete on our parking got damaged even after I clearly told them to be careful, a notice to owner (Mechanical Lean) was placed on my property until I was finished paying off the entire balance which by the way I paid off over two month ago and still have not received a release of lien, my pool came with up to 400 square feet of paver deck, all that was installed was 275 sqf and finally I had to pay some else to complete the work. My yard is still full of dribris and garbage left behind by Nationwide's workers and/or their contractors. It got to the point that I personnally contacted Keith Stuart and told him I wanted to terminate the contract and that I was willing to pay some else to complete the work, he in turn offered me a two month free pool maintenance that by the way he then conviently forgot. To anyone out there considering spending their hard earned cash on a pool, I advise you to contract with any pool company regardless of how unknown they are than to contract with Nationwide Pools and specifically their President (who by the way claims to be only a manager) Keith Stuart.
