Kensington Assistance Agency; Kensington Consulting ripoff, dishonest, did not honor refund policy New York New York
Like many other people, I also fell for this scam. I received this telegram in May from Kensington Assistance Agency saying I've been identified as a possible qualifier for a gov't grant of at least $5,000. I gave them my bank info and they charged me the fee of $299.97 for their services. I then went online 'cause I didn't feel good about them and found out it was a scam. I tried getting my money back but since they said I paid for their service I had to wait for their package to arrive. It didn't make sense to me why they wouldn't refund me back the full amount since I no longer wanted their service.
So I waited to get their package and once I did I followed their refund policy in the booklet. It said to get your money back minus $29.95 for "processing" the package needed to be returned in 3 business days. I went to the post office and had the package sent with confirmation. I called them a week later and they said the money would be deposited into my account no later than July 14th. Well I waited and by that time all their phones had been turned off and their phone numbers were all bogus. I sent them an email through their website asking for my refund and received no answer.
I just went back online to their website which has expired and then went to ripoffreport.com and found out they have a new number. I just called them today 8/7/06, inquiring about my refund which I never got and of course they said that it had been submitted but they would need to look into it. They told me to call them back in 10 days after their "investigation." I asked them if they receive a verification from the bank when they receive payments for their services and they said yes so then I asked if they received a verification from the bank for the refund. The guy said well it shows they submitted it but of course I never received it. I'll keep on calling them to see if I can get my money back!
