KeySecureInc. - OAN Lying & putting unauthorized charges on my phone bill! Sunrise Florida
Very unethical business practices are going on at this company...
On 3/13/09, I received a call from "Jason @ Yellow Pages" (the caller ID showed ph# 239-130-5125). He said he was calling to update the information for our "free listing". I confirmed our address, phone#, etc, and he said he would mail some information to us regarding an offer for an "enhanced listing". He said there would be NO OBLIGATION, but I soon learned that to be a lie!
On 3/23/09, I received a letter from KeySecureInc. "welcoming" me the KeySecure Enhanced Online Listing & Security Solution. The letter stated that we would be provided with our enhanced listing with our first billing occurring on our next phone bill (which we never authorized), and that we could keep our enhanced listing (that we never ordered) for $39.95 per month. At the bottom of the letter it stated "...to cancel service, you can call our customer service department toll free @ 866-775-7166, or you can write us..." In other words... YOU WILL BE CHARGED EVERY MONTH, UNLESS YOU CALL (this certainly sounds like an OBLIGATION to me!!!)
When I called them to cancel the service, and told the lady that answered the phone, that I never authorized this order, she told me she would let her manager know, and assured me that Jason should have told me about the $39.95/month. What a crock! Now I know I'm not the only person they've done this to!
I work for a roofing company. I wonder how the employees of KeySecureInc would feel if I called them to "offer" them a quote for a new roof, and then sent them a letter saying that we would be re-roofing their building on April 9, 2009, and they would be charged for this work, unless they called me to cancel the order!!!??? I think anyone would agree... that would be BAD BUSINESS!!!
