Criswell Kia Kia in G-burg, the business that doesn't give a d**n won't fix my WARRENTY WORK that they said didn't need be fixed 15K miles ago when it FIRST HAPPEND! Gaithersburg Maryland .....

I bought a brand new 2002 Kia Spectra from the wonderful people at Kia in Gaithersburg MD. At 15K miles, I called to complain that my transmission was acting up and about a few other problems I didn't thin a brand new car should have. I asked should I bring it in to get it fixed under my warrenty, they told me no, to wait until I hit 30K and if it was still a problem they would then fix it.... because according to my salesperson, it was "normal" for the transmission in a new car to slip, jump, buck, not accelerate the way I was describing it.

SO here we are at 34K and I was in a non-fault accident that ONLY damaged the front body and nothing else. While waiting for the parts for the repairs, my transmission goes COMPLETLEY. I bring it into the dealership, drop it off and tell them do what they will, give me some rental car money and get rid of the car. They tell me it isn't going to be able to be coverd under your warrenty because of my accident. Even though I called them and told them I had transmission trouble 15K miles ago and told them that nothing mechanical was damaged in the accident, they won't cover it because they think it's due to the wreck.

SO I get an estimate to see if I can possibly make the man I was in the accident pay for all this and just total my car - but no. The repair man said there was no way in hell the damage from the wreck could have done anything to the mechanics of my car. SO I am stuck with a $40.00 a DAY rental that I have had to pay $600.00 for already WAITING for them to tell me this, and now I have a dead car, an expensive rental and a car payment on a freaking car I don't/can't use. SO I want some money for my rental, I want these Kia people to take my car and give me a new one and I want to know if I am in ANY way in the wrong here. I AM STUCK!

I have sympathy for your troubles but you didn't do your homework before buying AND you let them fool you into believing that your problems were NORMAL for a new car. Well, wait just a minute. Maybe, in a way, they were telling you the truth. A leading consumer magazine says the following about the vehicle: "You'd have to search far and wide to find a worse new car than the Spectra... The ride is awful, the cabin is noisy, the powertrain is CRUDE and UNREFINED, the seats are uncomfortable, and the handling is clumsy... The Spectra sedan also received poor offset-crash-test scores from the IIHS." It all boils down to the fact that you purchased the worst car sold in America and, since you already had an accident, maybe you should just be happy that you're still alive!
