Use car dealers still taking advantage of the consumer. I went to Kinston Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Kinston NC and I felt like they really deceived me and did not give me quality service.

The car I thought I was purchasing had water in the floor and the water in the over flow was low. The sales person assured me that the car had just been newly shampooed and to crack the windows to let the car dry completly. He also said the water over level was normal on a fairly new car. I noticed the back lights were out and water was in the tail light. The car needed some touch up paint spots so I was to bring the car in the next day.

The salesman supervisor advised me that the touch up paint would devalue the price of the car if I had them to fix the paint problem. But they would reshampoo the car the next day. I took the car back and they kept the car for two days. The salesman called two days later and told me the car was ready. Mind you when I purchased the car my son had gotten grass on the floor from football practice the first day. When I picked up the car after two days nothing had been done to the car. the same grass was still on the floor and the floor was wet.

I took the car home with the water still on the floor. The salesman said he would make sure they fixed the shampoo problem the following week. Mind you this is about day four with a wet floor. But all of the sudden they decided they would paint the spots in about a week. They told me wait and we will call you. At that moment I felt like a fool. Also the car had suppossedly been inspected on the 1st of September, all of this happened starting on the 4th of September. I don't know how the car was inspected when none of the back lights worked. They apoligized for missing the inspection and told me "sometimes the guys making 5.15 an hour does not do their job."

When I left for work the next morning and the floor was soaking wet more than it had been before. I returned the car the next day and the supervisor told me "it was not like I was the only person who had bought a bad car."

He told me that I could not do anything or get my deposit back or my trade. I feel like ofter all the deceiving they created I should have the right to cut any dealings with this business and get my deposit and trade in. This company is unscrupulous. I don't understand how used car dealers can continue to lie about cars and continue to stay in business. After looking over my paper work they failed to double up to $1500 of my deposit.

I'm assuming as an informed consumer you had the vehicle checked by an independent garage before you signed on the dotted line? Just to be careful of course. Or...

Shampooing doesn't fill the taillight with water, setting in three foot of water does it. Was the shampooing done to get rid of the mud and smell from a flood perhaps? I'd have the car checked for water damage that may show up later, because it sounds as though the padding is soaked too.
