kustomautoworks.com destroyed my classic car! They charged me $3750. for a piece of **it paint job. I took it to several other local credible body shops and all agree Cheap Paint used (hardly any at all even) and a Maaco finish. Within 1 day the car looked like hell took it back, Looked like crap again at pick up and even worse. Owner never returned messages or emails.

2 weeks after car is peeling paint, wet sand marks clearly visible, orange peel and running paint, rust, deep scratches, never removed any parts A TOTAL MESS!

All I got was a Wacked up JUNK! Maaco might have done a better job. BEWARE~!

Won't go back ...

Everything that was promised was not done...Photos before, between and after were to be emailed but none. I took my own when I went in for follow ups to see how it was going along and drop weather stripping off.

They got the car twice and took 2.5 months with it. Should have taken 2 weeks at most.

If they couldn't have taken care of it within all this time. 3rd time a charm will not work for me. My car is black and in some areas it looks Charcoal.

I pointed out all the mistakes handed a list to them and still came back worst than it was. Even my brand new weather stripping was installed backwards! I had about a gallon of water in my trunk! One blamed the other...

Shops I took it too could not believe the job, it was that bad. One suggested they took it to Maaco got a $500. dollar job and they made $3250. profit off it.

Didn't they give you a warranty??

Even macco has some kind of warranty. Now granted you probably don't want to go near that place again with a 10 foot pole....but maybe they will redo it right? If they were willing to repaint it maybe you can have someone strip and mask the car properly and prep it..let them re spray it with better paint. Do you have anything in writing from them or is any warranty on the invoice?

If not..you are just screwed I guess as your name implies.

Get some $$ Back!

Sorry to hear this happened. I would contact KustomAutoWorks.com and get some of the money back! For $3750. they should have gave you an excellent job!

I had this same happen to me and hired a lawyer to go after the body shop who destroyed my machine and get your money back or half. Save emails, receipts, take pictures as evidence you may have.

Even if they agree to do it over and I see you did take it back, I would not bring it back to them because it should never have left the way it did the first time let alone the 2nd time around. They are "Professionals" and the shop manager should inspect every part before handing it over to the consumer.

In their web site they repair high end cars. I only hope they dealers keep a close eye on the repairs before selling them off!

I would sue them and try to get something back...keep posting their name up in review/rate business sites.

Good Luck Mate!

Had a paint correction specialist (recommended by Autopia dot com) take a look at it and used some paint reader and he even said he couldn't work on it. Also took it to several places and no one would touch it because they said it has cheap paint on it and they see the car was wet sanded to deep and barely has any paint left on it. Shame that my car looks like this and they had it for 2.5 months?? I even paid extra for "Premium Paint".

Sux that this happened to you...

I used to live near that place..never used them though, I am out in LA now.

For that price they should have took parts off and used top quality paint.

I know this is of no help to you now..but I restore classic cars and Jeeps as a hobby..and I use macco most of the time.

But I do all the body and prep work myself. I strip and mask the vehicle. I let macco paint it for their 1/2 price special..no clear coat etc..usually cost me under 300 dollars.

Then I let the paint cure for a long time..sometimes up to a month (2-3 weeks if it's very sunny and hot) so I have to live with the runs and fish eyes and dust in the paint (sometimes as big as pebbles) and orange peel for that time.

Then I take a few days and a lot of elbow grease and sweat..I wet sand the orange peel and blemishes and runs and over spray...work my way to 2000 grit..then the buffing wheel comes out...compound to various top quality (I like mcguires) polishes to wax.

Then..the macco job looks like a 3700 paint job..but cost much less. And this is what you paid for..but seems you didn't even get good paint..sorry to hear.
