First of all the lites are a way to get your money. We were really pushed to sell bulks of those...you do not need them! Refunds, please...they take a long time on purpose. And I see that you in in the Rock Hill area, and another lady in Fort Mill area...well I worked in the Charlotte area, but not Rock Hill center. All of those centers are owned by the same person, who we never saw, but was getting rich. When I was hired at LAWL, I was told that you would had to sell some things. It is a commission job, ladies. I was never told about sales quotas that HAD to be reach. They made it sound like you sell what you can because there was a based salary (a sorry 8.00+com). As time went on, I start finding out the REAL LAWL. We would have meetings and workshops on how to take people money. There would be times when the trainer would teach us how to get someone to sign up or buy something who was absolutely dead broke. The answer: making them sign up for Care Credit. (Does that sound familiar ladies?) I have a big consciousness on me. I was helping people lose weight left and right without having them spend money on the expensive products they offer. The clients loved me. However other employees there were good sellers and was put on a pedestal, I was treated like the enemy. When I was put on a 4-week probation to get my numbers up, I said forget it, I'm through. I didn't care after that because I saw them for who they were and they knew it and had to get me out. Managers tried to talk to me and then talk behind my back. Older clients started to see that the managers were not as interested in them as they were in the newer clients. Why? The newer clients are still purchasing the program. Another employee and I were thrown on the older clients and saw that. NOW TO THE LADY WHO SAYS LAWL IS GREAT, READ THIS: I asked my manager one day: "If I was a counselor who sold everything, great seller, but the clients hated me, would I be on probation like I am now?" Her response: "No." What does that tell you? So honey, the only reason they called to get you in and check on was to get your money. Trust me, we had workshops on calling people because they will think you care, come in, and will buy from you. I HATE TO TELL YOU BUT IT'S THE TRUTH. From that day on, I truly knew it was about the money. That's all they want, ladies. Personally, I would take the advice of someone who said it, about seeing your doctor. At least you have insurance to cover that.

I congratulate you on your persistance to obtain your refund and am happy you did receive it to at least somewhat satisfaction. However, I must point out that with your 72 week program, your program alone would not have cost $1000, unless those 72 weeks were only weight loss, plus then stab. and maint. If other items were added at your choice, then that could possibly amount to $1000. Regardless, the program price involves over a year's worth of service and if the accountability issue is the client's main priority as well as encouragement and advice, then the money is well worth it. Aside from cost of the program.... Regarding refunds, and for other clients information, any products remaining in the center, for example the lites, can be refunded. As well, your program can possibly be refunded, but do read your contract. Often, a $149 or so fee would be deducted f/ your refund. Persistance is key, and hopefully your center staff will be helpful in helping you settle your problems. If desired, they will refund your money, and new procedures are being put into place to help more quickly expedite this. However, if you're feeling a bit bummed and considering refunding, DO talk to the center staff as they will likely do anything in their ability to allay your worries and make it so YOU are happy with the resolution.

I had a family emergency I had to take care of in FL. I was gone about 2 weeks and during that time I received a check for the LA Lite Bars. However, I was shorted by 10 boxes of bars. I knew I'd get cheated of money somehow. It just makes me mad. It was my fault for not making someone give me a written number of boxes I had remaining. Instead I just asked on 3 seperate occations and was told I had 154. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to take up the issue or just be thankful I got what I got. I could have been like so many others on here that are still fighting to get their money. Advise: You need a little luck, be persistant, be firm, but keep your composure and don't loose your temper. Above all be professional.

I had the same problem regarding the center insisting that the lites are required. I did not want to buy them. If you look at your contract, you will see this sentence: The cost of the product is not included in this enrollment agreement...LA Lites are designed to enhance your weight loss, they are NOT required or mandatory to successfully complete the program. Also, visit your state's GOVERNORS OFFICE of Consumer Affairs website and look for the form letters they have for sending to businesses engaging in deceptive business practices. Write one of these letters, and send it certified mail to the center for legal purposes. Do not threaten, but simply inform the center that you are prepared to contact the Attorney General's Office, the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs, the Better Business Bureau, and the consumer advocate media person in your town if your request is not honored. Send copies of the appropriate pages from the websites above and be prepared to follow thru. Tell them you are prepared to make alot of noise about this and make them look unfavorable with the media's help. If all else fails, you (or someone you know) can sell the items on ebay - they are good sellers and you and the buyer will come out on top. Good luck.

Suprise, suprise. I gota refund on my remaining time I had left on the contract. I'd actually gone into the office @June 9th to find out the status. I was informed the claim had been approved and it would be about 30 days to get my refund. It wasn't two days later I got the refund check. Now the refund for my remaining 154 LA Lites has been more difficult. I am still going to continue to press the issue that NO where in the contract does it say the Lites are non-refundable. The mgr just keeps saying it's against company policy. I don't see that in writing anywhere. I'm not giving up yet.
