Ladies Workout Express Ripoff Will not refund money even though contract states they have to Cookeville Tennessee
Ladies Workout Express, also known as Cookeville Fitness Center and Electric Beach Tanning is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I make a living dealing with companies that are hard to deal with but this one takes the cake.
Back in August of 2004 my wife and I joined their club to lose weight and to get fit. We joined, went one day and decided that this is not the place for us. The owner went over the equipment, show us how to use them... took all of 7 minutes. Their employee that signed us up came over and told us that the owner charged more on our credit card after we left the day before. At that time they were having a special going on where one joins for full price and the other at half. They charged us for full on both sides.
After learning what the idiot did we ask for our money back and cancel our contract. We were told that they would take out $25 for each person as they showed us how to use the equipment. We told them no way, the contract states that if at anytime we are not happy with their center within 30 days we get our money back in full. I was told we read the contract wrong. Since we charged the start up on our credit card we called them and has been great at helping us get our money back, but the owner is not working with anyone to refund the money.
I have filed complaints with their head office but at this time no word has been seen from them on how to resolve this matter. My next step is to hire an attorney and sue them. We are looking for more people in the Cookeville area that has been wronged by these people and join together and put them out of business in Cookeville.

Cory...If you will read other reports on Ladies Workout Express you will find that I am not the only one that has something bad to say about them. They go by many different names throughtout the U.S. I deal with companies that do not like to pay their bills, give bad customer service, etc. Companies that you or someone else might have a hard time dealing with, thats when I come in. Ladies Workout Express takes the cake when it comes to this. I just want other people to know what our local business is up to. When I looked around to see if others where having the same problem I found I wasn't alone.
