Lady Of America Corporation, Roger Wittenberns, Bill Landman, Ed Duffy misleading, dishonest, total scam, beware Ft. Lauderdale Florida
I was only 25 years old when my husband & I were fooled by Lady of America. After a nightmarish 4 month ordeal trying to get financing through Bill Landman and his "business associates" and being denied time after time for no reason, we tried a local bank on our own and received the financing within 3 weeks. We used the business plan that Bill Landman had written for us to apply for our loan and were, in turn, given the funding that he said we would require.
We followed LOA's "formula" to a T and soon found that we were running out of money quickly. Bill Landman's business plan was so grossly skewed and off the mark that we had to take out credit cards in our personal names and we are now in $60,000 worth of credit card debt, all for business expenses that were never included in the business plan-- expenses like a sound system, toys for the babysitting room, a front desk, a computer, a third and fourth treadmill--and other NECESSITIES.
Why would the CFO of a corporation who has done this for years not include these basics in a business plan???
Of course, to get us to think that it would not be as expensive as it has turned out to be, and to get our money!!!
We have drained every cent of our personal savings and borrowed over $20,000 from our parents just to keep the club running. We are still selling 40 memberships per week, according to plan, yet we still have not broken even.
We have called Ed Duffy for MONTHS asking for help and support and he will not even call us back. We have been completely ignored by the corporate office, even after telling them that we are out of money and could go out of business. All because of Bill Landman's skewed business plan.
We are expecting our first child in May and we cannot figure out how we will feed this baby or care for it properly, when every cent we ever had has been sunk into this franchise. It could be years before we can get back on our feet, and Lady of America continues to ignore our pleas for help.

You said it is unfortunate that the woman who posted this complaint would use this forum? If this is the only way she could get your attention, I would say it is fortunate that she had this forum to use. I would like to hear from her to hear how she is doing now. It seems that your company could take a lesson from this and start giving support to your clients as soon as it is requested. It is a SHAME it had to get this far.

Jacqueline from PA is actually Jackie Scorceti. She is one of our franchisees in PA. Upon reading her concerns I contacted her directly. After lengthy dialogue we came up with a game plan to help her business become profitable. She had followed the plan however, was short approx 100 members to become profitable. We, at our expense, did a membership drive that enabled her to reach her profitability level within a few weeks. It is unfortunate that Jackie elected to use this method of communication but it did bring us closer together and develop a better working relationship. She is truly a nice 25 year old woman that is also expecting her first child in a matter of a few months. That also may have added to her anxiety level. However, today I am pleased to report that we have resolved our differences. Sincerely,
