IN MAY OF 2001, MY DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW WENT LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME THAT THEY COULD AFFORD. THEY STOPPED BY LAKEWOOD VILLAGE IN HUFFMAN TEXAS TO INQUIRE IF THERE WERE ANY LEASE HOMES. THEY WERE TOLD BY A SALESMAN NAMED CHRIS, THAT THEY NORMALLY SOLD THE HOMES, BUT THEY HAD A LEASE PURCHASE PLAN.

DURING THIS LEASE PURCHASE PLAN THEY WOULD HELP MY DAUGHTER CLEAN UP HER NEGATIVE CREDIT REPORT. SHE GAVE THEM $1600. AND THEY STARTED PAPERWORK.

CHRIS CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THAT HER CREDIT WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO GET ON THE LEASE PURCHASE AND WOULD NEED A CO SIGNER. SHE ASKED HER 75YR OLD GRANDMOTHER TO CO SIGN THE YEAR LEASE. I WENT WITH HER AND HER GRANDMOTHER TO LOOK OVER THE PAPERS.

THE PAPERS STATED THAT THE TRANSACTION WAS A LEASE PURCHASE FOR A PERIOD OF 1 YEAR AND AT THE END THE LEASE A PURCHASE OPTION.

SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE GRANDMOTHER WAS NOTIFIED THAT SHE HAD PURCHASED THE $60,000. MOBILE HOME. WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAPERWORK. THE MORTGAGE COMPANY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AS THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. WE HAVE SINCE INVESTIGATED AND FOUND THAT THE SALESMAN TOOK AN EXACTO KNIFE AND CUT THE SIGNATURE LINE OUT AND PASTED ONTO ANOTHER CONTRACT FOR PURCHASE AND FAXED TO THE CIT MORTGAGE CO.

WE HAVE TRIED TO GET THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OR STATE ATTORNEY TO STOP THESE PEOPLE, BUT THE SLOW HAND IS NOT WORKING. SO FAR THERE ARE 25 PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF AT THIS SITE. EACH DAY THEY STILL DO THEIR ILLEGAL DEEDS.
