Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Landstar has to be the biggest disappointment of a company I have ever seen. They build drivers up to believe they can make this excess of money as an owner operator without out giving their disclaimer of they are a lie!!! Let's first start with they do not provide proper training or support for their drivers. They start charging 35% before you even have a trailer and start working.

The load boards please do not believe that you have full aceess as they have a good ole boy load board that only a few are given access to, these are the drivers who make all the money, then your newcomers and anyone there less than 5 years is basically struggling just to get enough loads in a week to be able  to make a profit after they get their % which  is really almost 45%. Oh and let's not talk about the timing to get a trailer and again if they do not have a trailer ready for you it is not their problem but they are going to get their fees.

Due to the above most drivers start out in the negative just for those reasons!

They will shut off your fuel card and your truck without any notice and when you call to find out what is going on all of a sudden they want an inspection report every 120 days!!! For what??? Not to mention if an agent messes up a load and it is cancelled after you have mde the trip not only will they take the money back from you but they still charge you 35% and the agent is not responsible for anything while you basically payout of pocket for a free trip.

No one there is consistent in the information they provide or the process needed for errors, corrections or information. You can speak to someone today about an issue and all of a sudden tomorrow your truck is shut down because they need some information from you but no one ever said that when you talked to a person on the phone less than 24 hours ago. This company that is supposed to be of a high standard is the most unethical, irresponsible, and nonchalant company there is.

You are better off looking for a smaller company to help you as an owner operator or save your money and get your own authority. Landstar will cause you to go bankrupt and still want their fees from you every week.

They are the absolute worst you are better being a company driver!

"Let's first start with they do not provide proper training or support for their drivers"  LIE..they show you how to do EVERYTHING in orientation

you have a bco adviser assiigned to you from day 1 and their only job is to help you do well....

"They start charging 35% before you even have a trailer and start working" LIE... how can they charge you 35% of nothing....

"The load boards please do not believe that you have full aceess as they have a good ole boy load board that only a few are given access to," LIE... the load board is the one WE ALL USE the other one you are talking about your not qualifed to see because you don't have the training to do.... you must be with them for 6 months and go thru other training before you can pull the loads on it....

"newcomers and anyone there less than 5 years is basically struggling just to get enough loads in a week to be able  to make a profit after they get their % which  is really almost 45%." LIE 45% is bull.... it's 35% with their trailer, 30% power only, 28% with your trailer... if you can't make a profit thats 100% on you..

"Oh and let's not talk about the timing to get a trailer and again if they do not have a trailer ready for you it is not their problem but they are going to get their fees" the longest i've had to wait for a trailer is 12 hr's...... and why do you need one....? most loads are drop and hook or live load/unload.... the only time you have to give up a trailer is if you are going to be home more than 10 days. and again WHAT FEES....?

"Due to the above most drivers start out in the negative just for those reasons!" the only weeks i have ever been in the negative is when i take long home time (more than 7 days)

"They will shut off your fuel card and your truck without any notice and when you call to find out what is going on all of a sudden they want an inspection report every 120 days!!! For what???" guess you don't lissen in orientation did you....?? because you were told this..... guess when you were checking the load board you never checked the compliance link (it was in RED 7 days before they are need to be done) and your bco adviser would have told you when they gave you your 90 day check up call... why it's 120 day inspection because it's company policy thats why. my last company was 90 days

"Not to mention if an agent messes up a load and it is cancelled after you have mde the trip not only will they take the money back from you but they still charge you 35%" LIE the load CAN'T CANCEL after you pick it up....!!!. yes if it cancels BEFORE you pick it up then no you don't get paid for it, and if you don't get paid then they have every right to take back the ADVANCE they gave you and NO they don't charge 35%...

all in all from what i see you don't have a clue what you are talking about..... you need someone to hold your hand and tell you what to do
