About 1 year ago I was in the market for a new car. I stopped by L H Miller used cars in Sandy to be taken for the worst ride of my life.

The salesman Anthony Davison and manager took my 94 Toy pu for $3800 when I could have sold it for at least $5500 and put me in a 02 Audi A6.

I had never priced this car, but had always wanted one. They took full advantage of this, the starting price was $34,000, I brought them down to $28,000 and thought I was getting a deal.

It wasn't until about 7hrs later when I got home I felt like i had been taken. I looked up blue book on the internet and discovered that my new car was only worth $18,000.

Thats right I was taken for $10,000 and even more then that because I basically gave my truck to them. I was furious just like I still am 1+year later.

The next day I tried to take it back with no luck. They said that they had already sold my truck; it seemed like I was stuck.

Three months later I called and asked if they would give me what I paid for it on a new car trade in. They said they would love to and sent me to Brandon at Karl Malone Toy, next store.

To shorten the story both dealerships were in on another rip off and only gave me $18,000 trade in on the Audi for a new Tacoma, when just three months prior I paid $28,302 out the door for that very car.

I still owe $30,000 on a truck only worth $23,000 a year and a half later after paying $608 a month.

Just a piece of advice, but any time I have gone looking for a car with a trade in, I knew what the value of my car was and what I was looking for and what I was willing to pay for it.  I good rule of thumb is to educate yourself before you shopping for any major purchase.

I can't feel sorry for you when you didn't even take the time to make yourself aware of basic things like what your OWN car was worth.

Is high price a rip off?

It is one thing to be sold a vehicle that had been in an accident and improperly repaired. The same goes for a known mechnical issue ( the engine smokes but adding 4 cans of STP makes it all better ). Why is it a crime for a company to make a profit?

Aren't there any decent car dealers in Oregon? Hmmm. Well UNFORTUNATELY you picked the worst place here in Utah to buy a car. Larry H. Miller is a creep and he charges WAY to much for vehicles. That coupled with lousy customer service makes him borderline criminal. But he owns half the state and and the Mormon sheep...er..faithful ..buy from him.
