Leaf Guard Whenit rains they work, When it snows THEY FREEZE Cincinnati Ohio
Leaf Guard..Get it and Forget it....Right up until it snows. Leaf Guard installed gutters on my home in July, 2009. There were immediate problems with draining properly. They finally came back in 2011 when my basement leaked because of poor drainage near the foundation. At that time they reported no problems with the gutters. They had also not installed downspouts at installation and finally agreed that was necessary. They sent a young man here to look, he went to Loews and laid downspouts down in the yard, they were way too long and ultimately had to be removed.
Things work fairly well until it snows..When the snow melts and hits the gutter it immediately freezes upon contact, which causes large icicles and what they call ice damns. This passed winters ice damns have also caused a roof to leak that is only 6 years old and never leaked prior. I now have water damage in a pantry that needs repaired. Their response for this is that the house must not be insulated properly...How would you know this without checking the insulation? They are supposed to have a Good Housekeeping approval and warranty..Doesn't exist.
The gutter that never clogs.....ever..Guaranteed? That is the moto...It does clog, leaves stick to certain spots constantly.
If I could afford to have them removed and replaced I surely would....Don't waste your money
