Update to report filed:
I was contacted promptly by Mr. Lyman Smith with Canyon Law Group the same day I filed this report and disputed charges with my credit card company. Lyman was very nice as always and stated that he had responded to each of my previous request by email. I was unable to check any junk mail folders to verify as I had recently deleted that folder on my Google account to allow for more space. I can only assume that he had indeed responded to my previous request as he stated and that his emails possibly went to junk/spam folder.
He said he had sent me another email and I received without incident which included his revision notes. On 11/8 I signed off and approved the revisions. On 11/9, the day I am updating this report I received confirmation that my idea had been filed with the USPTO by Lyman Smith. He also courteously offered a full refund (which I did not expect) even though I received services from Legal Zoom and Lyman Smith.
Legal Zoom and Lyman Smith basically filed my patent idea at their expense in order to maintain a reputation of having excellent customer service. As I stated previously, I have used Legal Zoom many times in the past for other services and I was always extremely happy with the service provided.
I believe in the circumstance regarding my filing for patent, perhaps it was related to miscommunication through email not being received.
I am happy that my patent idea has been filed, and I would use Legal Zoom and Lyman Smith again if needed for future filings.
