I had called Lets Get Moving because I am disabled and unloading the uhaul of my family of 3 was becoming impossible. The guy I spoke to said it was 60$ per hour and had the guys here in a timely manner. 2 guys showed up and the sheet of paper I had signed said 65$ per hour, because there was 2 of them. (According to these men). They had started moving and one of the guys took 8 "bathroom" breaks to wash his hands and what not. AND had helped himself to my phone charger on the counter in which my phone was charging and he had unplugged it and plugged his in, NOT ASKING AT ALL. The other kept going the entire time. Well, they had finished in 45 minutes, and left. And there is a dents on my china cabinet, and on my filing cabinets. Which they had to call the boss and let him know that they got the china cabinet in okay. (Why would they have to do this??)Later on I was told that it was going to be 140$ (on a fixed income because of a disability, this is a very large amount to try and squeeze into finances) because that is their "base rate". NOBODY had warned me of this. And the lady had threatened to take me to court unless I paid this, not to mention when I had agreed to pay I was getting multiple phone calls starting at 8am the next day. And the guy made me meet him at ANOTHER COSTUMERS HOUSE to give him the payment.

That was a Pretty Inexpensive Move

I have to tell you at $65/hour with a minimum of $140 for 2 guys who are the most hardworking people in the industry is unbelievably cheap.  The normal rate in any city for a move like that is at least 40%-50% higher with a 4 hour minimum, so it would have cost you normally around $400 to do that move.  For that price, you should thank someone you ended up getting people who didn't destroy your furniture (no, I don't consider a few dents...destruction).  I'd say you got off pretty well.

What bothers me is that the terms and conditions of the move is payment provided upon delivery - in other words, the money is due when the items are moved into your new place, whether you are disabled and on a fixed income or not.  People have a tendency to try and skip out on payment when they don't get paid after a move, and the movers called you because they think you're a deadbeat.  If you didn't pay them at the time the items were delivered, then yes you were in violation of the T&C's of the agreement and if you held out, they could have sued you.  In all your complaining, I didn't see where you gave the movers a tip.  Did you even tip the movers??

After all that, you get a good move done, paid an incredibly low price for the move, and you leave a report here criticizing these movers??  Absolutely shameful.
