Ebay Auction
I, having had nothing but good experiences from Ebay in the past, decided to purchase a car with it (see Attachment 1 which is a copy of the auction I won).
I called and spoke to Mr. Matt LaRon prior to winning the car and all seemed on the up and up. After winning, I sent him an e-mail asking how he wanted payment (see Attachment 2 which is a printed copy of my e-mail requesting instructions for payment and delivery).
He responded via e-mail (see Attachment 3 which is Mr. Matt LaRon's instructions for payment and delivery). In it he stated that the car would leave AZ on 4/28/04 and I should expect it shortly thereafter. I expressed to him via phone my dire need of the car due to my lack of one at the time and he assured me all would be well as you see in the message. He also instructed me to pay Jessica Ann (Auto) at the address listed for the car in question which I followed to the letter.
I sent him a cashier's check from my local credit union (as his instructions said it was OK to do so) on 4/26/04 (see Attachment 4 which is a copy of the payment's overnight letter tracking information) overnight so as not to miss the projected 4/28/04 ship date. It was delivered to what I now know is Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's (at least she signed the back of the check with that last name) parent's house (where she lives) at 5017 N 61st Avenue Glendale, AZ 85301 and it was signed for
by M Mendell (her mother's name is Patricia Merdell and it appears that Federal Express messed up the recipients last name) on 4/27/04 whomever it might have been (see Attachment 5 which is a the payment's overnight letter tracking receipt information). I advised him via phone of my sending the payment and he assured me the car would make its expected ship date.
I was becoming leery of the circumstances and retrieved his Ebay info only to find that he was registered as a different last name and number (see Attachment 6 which is a copy of my eBay User Information request). I asked him about this via phone and he responded that was a typo and there really was not much I could do since he had the money so I opted to play it cool.
I left several messages after verifying receipt to insure the ship date all to no return until he finally
called me on 4/29/04 telling me that his bank (Wells Fargo) was putting a three day hold on the monies and that I could call and get it released quicker by having my bank call his but at that time there was no sense in such as it had missed the projected ship date and I opted to just let the time lapse as he told me that it would not ship until a later date due to the fact of the hold on the monies much to my distaste. I failed to realize that had he deposited the money the day he got it then the three day old would have been over by the original projected ship date.
I continually called to get the car's departure date to no avail until finally I was told it would leave 5/11/04 (see Attachment 7 which is his assurance that the car would ship 5/11/4) and I should expect it shortly after that.
I was becoming ever more wary of this guy and continually called him to get the tracking information on the car all to no avail until he finally told me the carrier was Trusty Transport after I reported him to Ebay (see Attachment 8 which is eBay's confirmation of receipt of my complaint). I immediately began calling Trusty Transport only to never get a human and sent them an e-mail requesting the car's status to which they finally replied that they knew nothing about it (see
Attachment 9 which is their e-mail response to my request for tracking information).

It was with the knowledge of this information and the fact that his voice mail had changed to state they would be out of the office 6/5/04-7/2/04 that I decided to step up my pursuit. I researched and obtained Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's phone number, spoke to her mother and explained the story to which she said she would have her call me back which never happened. I finally called and spoke with Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog 6/4/04 who informed me that the car had been shipped and that she
would call me the day following with more details and mail me the title which never happened. I relayed to her that she was to be held liable for fraud as well since she cashed the check to which she had no response.
Mr. Matt LaRon called me on 6/7/04 to explain that the shipper had an accident and got injured and that I could either have the car in AZ on 6/9/04 to pick up or to me no later than 6/11/04 to which I told him I would come get it on 6/9/04. Later that day I called and left a message that I would rather it be sent to me by or on 6/11/04 as I could not get away to go get it due to work related commitments.
I still did not hear from him and expected the car to arrive on or before 6/11/04 as he had promised. Needless to say it never arrived.
Beyond the point of fury, on 6/12/04 I called and left a message threatening to fly to his address with friends in order to extract my money and or car to which I finally received a return phone call (2:00a.m. CST 6/13/04) at which time we had a very heated discussion and he explained that it was not his problem but that of the shipper who he could not supply me the information needed to track it but promised to call me back with such the following day. Sure enough, at 1am CST 6/14/04 he left a message on my phone saying simply that he had the location of my car yet failed to tell me anything further (like the tracking # and carrier would not have been easily left as well). I missed the call as I was asleep at the time. I called him incessantly from 6/14/04 to 6/16/04 and left messages all to no return call ever received.
I called Mr. Matt LaRon around 6:00 on 6/17/04 and left a message telling him I was leaving from the New Orleans airport in route to Phoenix to get my car. Around 8:00 6/17/04 I called from a local bar and left a message saying I was laid over in Houston and that I would arrive in AZ around 11:30 6/17/04 and that I needed to know where to go to get my car. Finally, around 1:30 am CST 6/18/04 I called, actually got Mr. Matt LaRon on the phone, and told him I was at the Phoenix airport and
wanted to know where to go get my car. He told me it was at 4142 North 39th Avenue Glendale, AZ. I asked if I could go get it and he said not until in the morning due to the time so I told him I would sleep at the airport then go get it in the morning.
It was at this time I coordinated a shuttle to New Orleans, a flight from New Orleans to Phoenix, boarded a plane and arrived in Phoenix at 9:18 PST. I then took a taxi to the address I was given only hours before. I asked the people there if they knew Mr. Matt LaRon and they said yes but that my car was not there. I called Mr. Matt LaRon and left furious messages to no avail. The people at the address called their supervisor Robert who then directed me to see Doug @ 3883 North 36th Avenue Glendale, AZ and I proceeded to walk to the
address respectively in the 100 degree plus heat.

When I arrived at 3883 North 36th Avenue, Doug was not there nor did I see my car. I called Mr. Matt LaRon and left yet more messages as I waited in the heat for Doug who I was told would be there shortly. It was while I waited that I noticed a Lexus torn apart and in very poor shape so I checked its VIN only to find that it was the car I was supposed to have purchased.
I called and left more messages for Mr. Matt LaRon to no avail and then got a taxi to Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's
house. The girl that answered the door explained Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog was not there and I explained the story to her saying that the fraud charges were going to be brought against Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog, her address, and the like to which she responded that they could not be. I asked to borrow a lawn chair in her yard and wait for Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's return and she said I could
but that Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog would not be back until late. I told her I would gladly wait until whatever time as I was only 1,500 miles from home and had nothing better to do.
I called the police, justice court, FBI, and all other authorities I cold think of as I sat in her yard boiling in sweat from the heat and got nothing but the proverbial run around and was repeatedly told there was
nothing that they could do.
After sitting in the yard for an hour or so, recording all the license tag numbers I could, Mr. Matt LaRon called me around 3:00 PST 6/18/04 to say that he would meet me at 3883 North 36th Avenue around 4:00 and that he had no idea what I meant about the car being in shambles but that we would rectify it when he arrived. I called a taxi, stopped and bought a disposable camera, then returned to 3883 North 36th Avenue where I proceeded to take pictures of the car (see Attachment 10 which is copies of the pictures I took).
When he arrived, I demanded my money back to which he only would reply that it was not his problem and that the car was mine and I would not get any money back from
him. He explained that the timing belt had broken (note the ad said he had just replaced it in April yet he explained it had broken from going on and off the transport supposedly) hence the car's condition. He tried to tell me that the car would be ready by 4:30 the day following and I told him I did not want the car, I wanted my money, the money for my trip there, expenses, return trip costs, and that there was to be no other resolution.
Mr. Matt LaRon refused to meet my demands; I
recorded his car's tag information, called a taxi and sat at the curb waiting its arrival. While waiting
for the taxi, he called me to try and smooth this over and I again told him that this would only be settled if my demands were met or in a court of law at which time he informed me his family practiced in the field of law and that there would be no way for me to win. I got back to the airport just in time to get a plane to New Orleans & had to pay $200 to taxi back to Gulfport since I missed the shuttle.
So, in summation, I am currently without a car and renting my ex fiances car at a rate of $20 per day as I started doing so 5/10/4 due to my necessity there of. To top all of this off, I left my employer of 15 years on 6/2/04 to start my own competitive company selling and servicing computer equipment (Computer Solutions Inc) to which the lack of my own car (my rental arrangement is
from 8am-5pm Monday Friday) is a huge inconvenience to say the least by limiting the hours at which I can work. My time bills at $90 per hour and I would be conservative at saying that I have missed 5 billable hours per week as a result of this situation.

$200 Approximate Cab fees in AZ
$40 to cash money order while in Phoenix for money as I had a $450 money order
awaiting arrival of my car to pay the driver upon arrival
$10 Camera to take pictures of the car
$30 Federal Express tools back to my office from New Orleans Airport (note to
self, remember not to leave tools in bag when boarding a plane)
$319.05 Return Flight to Gulfport
$200 Cab fare from New Orleans to Gulfport as I missed the last shuttle
$700 Car Rental from 5/10 currently I pay by the week and this expense is
recurring weekly until this matter is resolved
$720 Loss of income for trip - 8 hour work day of time billable at $90 per hour
$100 Approximate Cell Phone Expenses while in AZ
$10 to develop the pictures of the car
$3,150 Estimated loss of income per week to date from expected arrival of 5/11
estimating 5 hours per week billable at $90 per hour (thru 6/25 @ $450 per
week) and this amount is recurring weekly until this matter is resolved.

$22.79 Postal fee for registered receipt overnight delivery of this package
I have personally lost $10,953.89 to date as a result of this occurrence.

Hello, your are looking at a bueatiful Peral White 94 ES 300 Lexus in good condition inside and out their use to be a split in the seem on the front drive as you can see. The exterior is in good condition. All guages work,
timing belt changed, the engine actual miles on the car is 116,222.

No but can you not reference from the vin I supplied? This situation is ridiculous as it was picked up over two
weeks ago, supposedly the driver broke his ribs in OK, and I still do not have the car. Without the shipping

your office as I have yet to get an answer AND I WILL CALL YOU. Again, I can not stress the importance orf my

Miscellaneous information possibly useful
To help in the pursuit of a resolution to this matter I have collected the following information that may be of some
use:
● Mr. Matt LaRon registered as Matt Ynas from Tulsa OK phone (480) 213-2778 on Ebay registered since
Monday, Jan 19, 2004 23:39:05 PST and of course no longer a registered user. CA tags on Lexus he drives
3NXC635 and AZ temp tag # TF3640. Will occasionally answer (480) 213-2778 which is answered as Lexus
Deport yet I have yet to see any sign at any address I went to saying such. 7500 E Deer Valley Rd - Scottsdale,
AZ 85255 = address 1 given, 4142 North 39th Avenue Glendale, AZ = address 2 given, 3883 North 36th
Avenue Glendale, AZ (Doug works here) = address 3 given.
● Robert at 4142 North 39th Avenue spoken to via phone # 602-486-9724 who directed me to Doug @ 3883
North 36th Avenue.
● Mr. Matt LaRon told me he contracted the car's shipment with Trusty Transport, 5235 S Kyrene Road, Suite
212, Tempe, AZ, 85283, 800-737-9098, 480-756-7507, 480-756-7506, www.trutytransport.com.
● Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog, lives with her mother Mrs. Patricia Merdell whose address is 5017 N 61st Avenue,
Glendale, AZ 85301, 623-934-0662. There were several cars at that address; AZ tag 343LVE on Grey
(primer) Volkswagen Bug, AZ tag 341GSZ on an older four door car, AZ Classic Tag LGC4 on a Nova, AZ
tag 210MBT on an (?Oldsmobile?) Somerset.
● Cashiers Check was endorsed and cashed/deposited against account # 18(0or6)3391528 at Wells Fargo bank in
Phoenix, AZ.

Ebay Auction
I, having had nothing but good experiences from Ebay in the past, decided to purchase a car with it (see Attachment 1 which is a copy of the auction I won).
I called and spoke to Mr. Matt LaRon prior to winning the car and all seemed on the up and up. After winning, I sent him an e-mail asking how he wanted payment (see Attachment 2 which is a printed copy of my e-mail requesting instructions for payment and delivery).
He responded via e-mail (see Attachment 3 which is Mr. Matt LaRon's instructions for payment and delivery). In it he stated that the car would leave AZ on 4/28/04 and I should expect it shortly thereafter. I expressed to him via phone my dire need of the car due to my lack of one at the time and he assured me all would be well as you see in the message. He also instructed me to pay Jessica Ann (Auto) at the address listed for the car in question which I followed to the letter.
I sent him a cashier's check from my local credit union (as his instructions said it was OK to do so) on 4/26/04 (see Attachment 4 which is a copy of the payment's overnight letter tracking information) overnight so as not to miss the projected 4/28/04 ship date. It was delivered to what I now know is Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's (at least she signed the back of the check with that last name) parent's house (where she lives) at 5017 N 61st Avenue Glendale, AZ 85301 and it was signed for
by M Mendell (her mother's name is Patricia Merdell and it appears that Federal Express messed up the recipients last name) on 4/27/04 whomever it might have been (see Attachment 5 which is a the payment's overnight letter tracking receipt information). I advised him via phone of my sending the payment and he assured me the car would make its expected ship date.
I was becoming leery of the circumstances and retrieved his Ebay info only to find that he was registered as a different last name and number (see Attachment 6 which is a copy of my eBay User Information request). I asked him about this via phone and he responded that was a typo and there really was not much I could do since he had the money so I opted to play it cool.
I left several messages after verifying receipt to insure the ship date all to no return until he finally
called me on 4/29/04 telling me that his bank (Wells Fargo) was putting a three day hold on the monies and that I could call and get it released quicker by having my bank call his but at that time there was no sense in such as it had missed the projected ship date and I opted to just let the time lapse as he told me that it would not ship until a later date due to the fact of the hold on the monies much to my distaste. I failed to realize that had he deposited the money the day he got it then the three day old would have been over by the original projected ship date.
I continually called to get the car's departure date to no avail until finally I was told it would leave 5/11/04 (see Attachment 7 which is his assurance that the car would ship 5/11/4) and I should expect it shortly after that.
I was becoming ever more wary of this guy and continually called him to get the tracking information on the car all to no avail until he finally told me the carrier was Trusty Transport after I reported him to Ebay (see Attachment 8 which is eBay's confirmation of receipt of my complaint). I immediately began calling Trusty Transport only to never get a human and sent them an e-mail requesting the car's status to which they finally replied that they knew nothing about it (see
Attachment 9 which is their e-mail response to my request for tracking information).

It was with the knowledge of this information and the fact that his voice mail had changed to state they would be out of the office 6/5/04-7/2/04 that I decided to step up my pursuit. I researched and obtained Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's phone number, spoke to her mother and explained the story to which she said she would have her call me back which never happened. I finally called and spoke with Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog 6/4/04 who informed me that the car had been shipped and that she
would call me the day following with more details and mail me the title which never happened. I relayed to her that she was to be held liable for fraud as well since she cashed the check to which she had no response.
Mr. Matt LaRon called me on 6/7/04 to explain that the shipper had an accident and got injured and that I could either have the car in AZ on 6/9/04 to pick up or to me no later than 6/11/04 to which I told him I would come get it on 6/9/04. Later that day I called and left a message that I would rather it be sent to me by or on 6/11/04 as I could not get away to go get it due to work related commitments.
I still did not hear from him and expected the car to arrive on or before 6/11/04 as he had promised. Needless to say it never arrived.
Beyond the point of fury, on 6/12/04 I called and left a message threatening to fly to his address with friends in order to extract my money and or car to which I finally received a return phone call (2:00a.m. CST 6/13/04) at which time we had a very heated discussion and he explained that it was not his problem but that of the shipper who he could not supply me the information needed to track it but promised to call me back with such the following day. Sure enough, at 1am CST 6/14/04 he left a message on my phone saying simply that he had the location of my car yet failed to tell me anything further (like the tracking # and carrier would not have been easily left as well). I missed the call as I was asleep at the time. I called him incessantly from 6/14/04 to 6/16/04 and left messages all to no return call ever received.
I called Mr. Matt LaRon around 6:00 on 6/17/04 and left a message telling him I was leaving from the New Orleans airport in route to Phoenix to get my car. Around 8:00 6/17/04 I called from a local bar and left a message saying I was laid over in Houston and that I would arrive in AZ around 11:30 6/17/04 and that I needed to know where to go to get my car. Finally, around 1:30 am CST 6/18/04 I called, actually got Mr. Matt LaRon on the phone, and told him I was at the Phoenix airport and
wanted to know where to go get my car. He told me it was at 4142 North 39th Avenue Glendale, AZ. I asked if I could go get it and he said not until in the morning due to the time so I told him I would sleep at the airport then go get it in the morning.
It was at this time I coordinated a shuttle to New Orleans, a flight from New Orleans to Phoenix, boarded a plane and arrived in Phoenix at 9:18 PST. I then took a taxi to the address I was given only hours before. I asked the people there if they knew Mr. Matt LaRon and they said yes but that my car was not there. I called Mr. Matt LaRon and left furious messages to no avail. The people at the address called their supervisor Robert who then directed me to see Doug @ 3883 North 36th Avenue Glendale, AZ and I proceeded to walk to the
address respectively in the 100 degree plus heat.

When I arrived at 3883 North 36th Avenue, Doug was not there nor did I see my car. I called Mr. Matt LaRon and left yet more messages as I waited in the heat for Doug who I was told would be there shortly. It was while I waited that I noticed a Lexus torn apart and in very poor shape so I checked its VIN only to find that it was the car I was supposed to have purchased.
I called and left more messages for Mr. Matt LaRon to no avail and then got a taxi to Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's
house. The girl that answered the door explained Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog was not there and I explained the story to her saying that the fraud charges were going to be brought against Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog, her address, and the like to which she responded that they could not be. I asked to borrow a lawn chair in her yard and wait for Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog's return and she said I could
but that Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog would not be back until late. I told her I would gladly wait until whatever time as I was only 1,500 miles from home and had nothing better to do.
I called the police, justice court, FBI, and all other authorities I cold think of as I sat in her yard boiling in sweat from the heat and got nothing but the proverbial run around and was repeatedly told there was
nothing that they could do.
After sitting in the yard for an hour or so, recording all the license tag numbers I could, Mr. Matt LaRon called me around 3:00 PST 6/18/04 to say that he would meet me at 3883 North 36th Avenue around 4:00 and that he had no idea what I meant about the car being in shambles but that we would rectify it when he arrived. I called a taxi, stopped and bought a disposable camera, then returned to 3883 North 36th Avenue where I proceeded to take pictures of the car (see Attachment 10 which is copies of the pictures I took).
When he arrived, I demanded my money back to which he only would reply that it was not his problem and that the car was mine and I would not get any money back from
him. He explained that the timing belt had broken (note the ad said he had just replaced it in April yet he explained it had broken from going on and off the transport supposedly) hence the car's condition. He tried to tell me that the car would be ready by 4:30 the day following and I told him I did not want the car, I wanted my money, the money for my trip there, expenses, return trip costs, and that there was to be no other resolution.
Mr. Matt LaRon refused to meet my demands; I
recorded his car's tag information, called a taxi and sat at the curb waiting its arrival. While waiting
for the taxi, he called me to try and smooth this over and I again told him that this would only be settled if my demands were met or in a court of law at which time he informed me his family practiced in the field of law and that there would be no way for me to win. I got back to the airport just in time to get a plane to New Orleans & had to pay $200 to taxi back to Gulfport since I missed the shuttle.
So, in summation, I am currently without a car and renting my ex fiances car at a rate of $20 per day as I started doing so 5/10/4 due to my necessity there of. To top all of this off, I left my employer of 15 years on 6/2/04 to start my own competitive company selling and servicing computer equipment (Computer Solutions Inc) to which the lack of my own car (my rental arrangement is
from 8am-5pm Monday Friday) is a huge inconvenience to say the least by limiting the hours at which I can work. My time bills at $90 per hour and I would be conservative at saying that I have missed 5 billable hours per week as a result of this situation.

awaiting arrival of my car to pay the driver upon arrival
$10 Camera to take pictures of the car
$30 Federal Express tools back to my office from New Orleans Airport (note to
self, remember not to leave tools in bag when boarding a plane)
$319.05 Return Flight to Gulfport
$200 Cab fare from New Orleans to Gulfport as I missed the last shuttle
$700 Car Rental from 5/10 currently I pay by the week and this expense is
recurring weekly until this matter is resolved
$720 Loss of income for trip - 8 hour work day of time billable at $90 per hour
$100 Approximate Cell Phone Expenses while in AZ
$10 to develop the pictures of the car
$3,150 Estimated loss of income per week to date from expected arrival of 5/11
estimating 5 hours per week billable at $90 per hour (thru 6/25 @ $450 per
week) and this amount is recurring weekly until this matter is resolved.

$22.79 Postal fee for registered receipt overnight delivery of this package
I have personally lost $10,953.89 to date as a result of this occurrence.

Hello, your are looking at a bueatiful Peral White 94 ES 300 Lexus in good condition inside and out their use to be a split in the seem on the front drive as you can see. The exterior is in good condition. All guages work,
timing belt changed, the engine actual miles on the car is 116,222.

No but can you not reference from the vin I supplied? This situation is ridiculous as it was picked up over two
weeks ago, supposedly the driver broke his ribs in OK, and I still do not have the car. Without the shipping

your office as I have yet to get an answer AND I WILL CALL YOU. Again, I can not stress the importance orf my

Monday, Jan 19, 2004 23:39:05 PST and of course no longer a registered user. CA tags on Lexus he drives
3NXC635 and AZ temp tag # TF3640. Will occasionally answer (480) 213-2778 which is answered as Lexus
Deport yet I have yet to see any sign at any address I went to saying such. 7500 E Deer Valley Rd - Scottsdale,
AZ 85255 = address 1 given, 4142 North 39th Avenue Glendale, AZ = address 2 given, 3883 North 36th
Avenue Glendale, AZ (Doug works here) = address 3 given.
● Robert at 4142 North 39th Avenue spoken to via phone # 602-486-9724 who directed me to Doug @ 3883
North 36th Avenue.
● Mr. Matt LaRon told me he contracted the car's shipment with Trusty Transport, 5235 S Kyrene Road, Suite
212, Tempe, AZ, 85283, 800-737-9098, 480-756-7507, 480-756-7506, www.trutytransport.com.
● Ms. Jessica Ann Kellog, lives with her mother Mrs. Patricia Merdell whose address is 5017 N 61st Avenue,
Glendale, AZ 85301, 623-934-0662. There were several cars at that address; AZ tag 343LVE on Grey
(primer) Volkswagen Bug, AZ tag 341GSZ on an older four door car, AZ Classic Tag LGC4 on a Nova, AZ
tag 210MBT on an (?Oldsmobile?) Somerset.
● Cashiers Check was endorsed and cashed/deposited against account # 18(0or6)3391528 at Wells Fargo bank in
Phoenix, AZ.
