It is nice to receive an ostensibly helpful response from Inphonic, although it is the same generic, unsigned response everyone gets. The offer to personally investigate has no meaning to me if you don't identify yourself as a person. Why should I believe that you, generic person or automated process, will investigate now when I emailed you initially and received no reply? But in any case, I posted for the benefit of other complainants, not to ask Inphonic to address my problem. The message from my post is that consumers should not rely on (generic promisses or) the District of Columbia to investigate or mediate problems -- court seems to be the only productive recourse in this case. And, beware in the future of businesses that are incorporated in DC.
