I WENT THRU A DIVORCE IN 2006, MY FORMER HUSBAND AND I TOOK EQUITY OUT OF OUR HOME IN 2003 AND LITTON LOAN BECAME THE MORTGAGE SERVICER. THE HOUSE WAS DEEDED TO ME IN MY DIVORCE SETTLEMENT.

IN 2007, MY JOB RELOCATED AND I BECAME UNEMPLOYED, THE BURDEN CAME UPON ME TO TRY AND SAVE MY HOME. I STARTED A LOAN REMODIFICATION THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED DUE TO LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT IN 2007, AND WAS NOT COMPLETED UNTIL 2008. I WAS TOLD I OWED FOR DEC., JAN., AND FEB., AND THE MODIFICATION STILL STOOD AND NO OTHER APPLICATION WOULD BE ACCEPTED; EVEN AFTER I EXPLAINED I WAS UNEMPLOYED DURING THE INTERIM AND MY EX SPOUSE WAS NOT COOPERATIVE IN THE PROCESS. I OWED SOME $5K AT THIS POINT ALONG WITH THE CURRRENT DUE AMOUNT OF $1081 MONTHLY AND PROPERTY TAXES THAT WAS DUE FROM 2007.

LITTON'S LOSS MITIGATION SUGGESTED A PAYMENT PLAN THAT WOULD BREAK DOWN THE PASS DUE WITH THE CURRENT MORTGAGE FOR A PERIOD OF 16 MONTHS, AT $1231. I EXPLAINED THAT SINCE I HAD BEEN OUT OF THE WORK FIELD DURING MY MARRIAGE FOR 9 YEAR'S, AND WAS JUST NEWLY EMPLOYED, THAT I WAS UNABLE TO ADHERE TO SUCH A STEEP PAYMENT PLAN. I WAS THEN ADVISED THAT MY HOUSE WAS IN FORECLOSURE FOR THE 3RD TIME SINCE 2007, AND TO ARRANGE FOR A SHORT SALE OF MY HOME OF 8 YEAR'S.

I HAVE BEGAN WORKING WITH A REALTOR REGARDING THE SHORT SALE, BUT I AM IRRATE AT THEIR TOTAL DISREGARD AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO THEIR CUSTOMER'S. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY'D RATHER HAVE THE PROPERTY FORECLOSED ON THAN TO WORK WITH ME. I SUGGESTED A NEW LOAN MODIFICATION SINCE IN 2007, I BECAME UNEMPLOYED AT THE TIME OF THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION, BUT WAS BATTED DOWN DUE TO THEIR SHORT-SIGHTED POLICY AND PROCEDURES THAT LEAVE NO ROOM FOR RECOURSE.

I EVEN ASKED IF I COULD HAVE THE OUTSTANDING BALANCE ATTACHED TO THE PRINCIPAL AND DELIQUIENT PROPERTY TAXES PUT INTO THE ESCROW ACCOUNT, THIS TOO WAS NOT CONSIDERED; EVEN THOUGH AS THE LENDER THEY HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO WHAT EVER THEY CHOOSE.

I PRAY THAT OUR GOVERNMENT WILL COME TO THE ASSISTANCE OF THE HOMEOWNER IN THE NEAR FUTURE, SO THAT NO OTHER HARD WORKING, SINGLE MOM IS LEFT TO FEND FOR HERSELF AGAINST SUCH A CORRUPT CORPORATION AS LITTON LOAN SERVICING.
