Def. A real rant. There's a couple things I left out on purpose because I didn't tell my supervisors these things either and I wanted to make my point in the same manner I did to them. I appreciate all the input, it's very humbling, and I must say I finally see the point they were trying to make to me. Yes I'm an idiot but more so I'm very selfish. It's an issue I have. I'd elaborate more and defend myself but I don't see the point, I got everything I need from you guys already:) I'm going to apologize tonight for being such a tool, and remember to pause when being confronted by a group of people. Thanks for the real talk, you probably (Jesus Christ, really?) will never know how much it means to me.

" As far as I know, it's not illegal to drive while you have chest pains. "
Yes. Most states have laws on the books that prevent your driving if you could become incapacitated. Let's not even mention common sense.
I've seen the aftermath of a few accidents where drivers became incapacitated. They are not pretty. Suppose you were on your way home and took out a crowd of people at a bus stop. Would that bother your conscience, or are your needs more important than anyone else's?
I can't believe someone would post such a ridiculous rant. I'm half convinced it has to be a joke.

If this is some sort of joke or fake report it is in very bad taste. So figuring that you are being truthful in what you are saying there are really a few words that sum this up..Are you really this STUPID.
You tell your employer that you are having chest pains and wanted to go to the ER. But think you are okay enough to drive home. Where the reason you wanted to go home was because just in case these were your last hours on earth you wanted to be at home with your girl.
Honestly this sounds like someone who just wanted to take a few hours off of work.
Of course they could have driven you to the ER directly, but unless they have all of the medical equipment that an Ambulance has, the Ambulance would still be the most logical choice.
As far as I know, it's not illegal to drive while you have chest pains.
- Actually it could be. Because you are expected to be able to keep control of your vehicle. If you have Chest Pains that MAY be a heart attack. Since you knew of this condition AND still chose to drive. If something happens while driving it would be very likely that(if you survived) you could find yourself brought up on criminal charges for your negligence.
Then forgetting about the legal, you also talk about morals. What IF you did have a heart attack while driving home. What if as a result you crashed into another car or ran over a pedestrian. Then as a result of this those people were seriously injured or died.
Where are your morals?

If you feel like may have, or are having, a heart attack at work, your employer would obviously get medical care ASAP, which they were trying to do before you made a fool of yourself.
What if they had just let you try to drive home, you had a heart attack on the way and caused an accident, maybe even killing someone.
You can be certain the employer would have been blamed for not getting help for you and letting you drive away. They may even have been sued for their lack of action.
They did the right thing, it's good you are OK but you were being a jerk. I applaud their action and would have expected my employers would have done the same thing.
Is prolly a word?
