Lobel financial financed my boyfriends car. After we broke up and he moved out, he stopped paying the loan and they started harrassing me and my family and friends. I believe they rummaged through my garbage and got a hold of my cell phone bill, because they called people I had barely knew asking for my ex-boyfriend.

They called my co-workers, friends, people who didn't even have my home phone number, even my mom who barely knew my ex. The police couldn't do anything about the stolen phone bill except file an "unusual occurrence report". I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and found out that lobel ran my credit without my knowlege or consent. I, myself have never been a customer of lobel and have never done any kind of business with them.

When I called to ask why they ran my credit they denied it. I sent them a copy of my report with the inquiry on it and have not heard back from them. I believe they were trying to find out if my ex-boyfriend and I were married so they could come after me for the bad loan.

Lobel called people on my street I never even met...so I researched.

When people I never met that lived on my street, even some that lived around the corner came to tell me that Lobel was harrassing them with phone calls and bothering them constantly, I posted the question about their procedures on the internet and recieved responses from either ex or current employees from other simular companies and they pretty much said the same thing. They get a computer printout of everyone on your street that has a listing in the phone book or even listings from nearby streets. With the right computer program they can have a list with a couple a clicks of the mouse and let the harrassing begin. Not only does Lobel rip-off there own customers but they don't even care about harrassing the innocent people that just happen to live on the same street as their victim. I go to court on 12/19/05 and I'm going to try my best to bring their unfair practices to light. We got to make a stand. ARE YOU WITH ME?

File Reports! You need to file a report with your local District Attorney's office

#3Consumer Suggestion

You need to file a report with your local District Attorney's office as well as with the State Attorney General's office. You might also consider filing another police report in case of identity theft and notify all of the credit reporting bureaus that you wish to have a Security Alert placed on your file for that reason.
