I came into this "business opportunity" very skeptical. Having a strong distaste for multi-level-marketing companies, I gave Local Ad Link (LAL) a shot because it seemed like an interesting concept and a straight forward product to sell...well little did I know.

I've been heavily researching LAL since I joined a couple months ago; and the reason for this report is to hopefully deter anymore individuals from signing up with their deplorable organization.

First off, LAL completely misrepresents their product. They advertise they have "proprietary software" and have partnered up with "millions of websites". Well guess what folks, all LAL is doing is USING GOOGLE ADWORDS and ADSENSE! They are simply the middle man in creating Google AdWords/PayPerClick/AdSense campaigns that anyone with basic knowledge can do on their own. Not only are they lying to their customers and brand builders about what they're doing- but they don't even do it good. I'm not going to bore you with the specifics of exactly how they are executing their poor campaigns (read some other posts on this website and you will see a breakdown of exactly why their service is inferior to using Google AdWords yourself).

I'm sure that it won't be before long before Google puts an end to the abuse of Google's services- unless the SEC intervenes before and shuts them down. I don't like bashing other companies and this is my first post ever on this website, but I thought it was my responsibility to speak out against this abomination of a business. All their propaganda they dish out is completely outrageous and they portray themselves as being a credible and legitimate company. Do your research like I did and you'll find red flags everywhere.

First off, lets examine their recent published 10k report of their parent company (Beyond Commerce) financial standings. They mention several times of their skeptical financial status and not knowing how much longer they can continue on operations. I know any company that is in bad shape does everything they can to hide it from the public, their employees and customers, but what LAL is doing is straight up lying. Take a look for yourselves and read the mess that this company is in;

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/10-k-beyond-commerce/story.aspx?guid={2C57D691-332C-4491-915C-030F77148083}&dist=msr_2

Now, lets go on to the founder of the company, the glorified Bob McNulty. Since I've never personally met the man this is not an attack against his character, just trying to inform everyone of his real shady practices. Don't believe the glorified businessman image LAL has tried to portray him in. Anyone that can do a little due diligence on the guy like I've done will find he's been in the middle of numerous business dealings gone sour. I wouldn't go as far as to call him a con artist, but I'd say he's pretty close in what he's doing with LAL and Beyond Commerce. First off, there is many claims that Mr. Robert McNulty was responsible for writing the business plan for Home Depot. If you do your research he was actually SUED by Home Depot for trying to domain squat a name Home Depot had trademark rights to. I've read mixed things about his dealings with shopping.com so I am not going to comment on that because I don't know the full story. What I do know is that he was broke in 2003, and again in 2005/2006. If he made out with $220 million cash from selling shopping.com like they say he did then where did all that money go and why is LAL in such bad debt? Hmm...looks like the SEC has gone after him before and probably will again, read this interesting court filing:

http://www.legalcasedocs.com/120/243/354.html#item1

I could honestly go on for hours telling you all the things wrong with this company and their screwed up organization. Great concept, but terrible people behind it. To wrap things up, I'll highlight a few points that I think are worth knowing:

-They are over $17 million in debt (source: published 10k corporate report)

-LAL shuts off all the customers ads between 6pm and 8am. Paid customers ads are only displayed, excuse me, "rotated" between certain hours- they state this no where.

-It sometimes takes weeks for an ad to even appear on Google's content network; when they claim it will be there within 72 hours. Remember, there is no "proprietary software", anyone can geo-target Google PPC.

-I've read of at least 50 documented cases of Brand Builders NOT receiving ANY MONEY. If you do your research you can find checks they sent out to pay commissions that actually bounced at the bank (if thats not fishy I don't know what is).

-Most of their ground level investors got out of the company this last month. When investors start pulling out then you know somethings up.

-They charge outrageous fees for their debit cards they use, which is how most commissions are paid out. They're basically taking back money they pay you without you knowing it. In addition, the merchant debit card company is owned by McNulty's son.

-Linlithgow Holdings, the company which owns 41% of their common stock is owned by McNulty's family trust. Their merchant card company, TAC Financial is 85% owned by the holding company. Two of McNulty's sons serve on the board of that company....Sounds like Mr. McNulty likes to keep money in the family; while there's nothing a matter with that; I bet closer financial examination would reveal some interesting facts....

Bottom Line, LOCAL AD LINK IS A SCAM. This company is ruining a perfectly good paid advertising system Google and other major online companies have worked hard to achieve. They don't pay their agents, they sell an overpriced and misrepresented product and they lie to all of the members in their organization.

I filed a claim with my credit card company to get my $350 back they ripped me off from. Hopefully someone at LAL will personally respond to this post and refund my money- if they had any decency in them.

Go on scam as well, there's some interesting reading there for anyone still doubtful about this "promising business opportunity". Read the other reports of them on this site; I can't be the only one that sees past their smoke and mirrors.

I have many friends who got involved with Bob Mc Nulty and his many muti marketing scams.
He has changed the name of his Scam three times in the past year.  All my Dear friends would come tell me how great this Man is and that he is not a millionaire But a Billionaire!  It all was too fishy for me to jump in the bowl with all my friends. Now they all are without the sign up fee and monthly fee's and without the commissions promised.  Now I am hearing he is joined up with some new guy that goes around telling people he is a swinger! Oh God help these people understand a scam when it is done nothing but cost them money.  The newest company I understand is called AdJuice.

FIRST GO READ the better business bureau's rating RATING = F advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law's licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, company bounced 567 checks in march & april... I still haven't been paid it's not even worth it anymore... people don't listen... they'd rather believe lies and hope on a fantasy rather than looking at the facts... bad co.... bad management... bad people.

I am amazed how many people would rather blame others that accept reponsibility for themselves. They refuse to look inside themselves and educate themselves. LocalAdLink (LAL) is a new company and was only launched two days ago! For the past six months the company has been working in a "beta" mode. Every company has growing pains and LAL is no different. As far as proprietary software, this business model is unique and the entirety of the system IS propreitary. LAL does NOT just use Adwords from Google, that is totally false! Some people can use tools from Google but LAL is it's own creation. If a any person joins LAL and goes out and sells the service to local businesses they will make money and the service works for the businesses! Anyone that understands internet propagation understands this can take time. Bottom line, there will always be sour grapes from people that are unable or unwilling to see the benefit from something of value being presented to them. To them, a diamond will never be more than a cubic zirconia. I feel sorry for them. They will never see the big picture.

Why is it we only hear from those that somehow think they have been wronged or scammed? Why do we never hear from the other 98% that have positive experiences? Well I am here to stand up for the 98%. I signed up back in December because for one, I am a small business owner and liked the concept, and 2, if it worked I could share it with my fellow small business owners. Within 48 hours of submitting my ad into the directory, there I was all by myself. Dominating the entire mattress category. I had it all to myself. Of course, no one knew about this company yet. 4 days later I did a search on Google for one of my 'targeted terms" and low and behold I was sitting at the very top right under the search bar. This continued for a couple of weeks and then I decided to spruce up my ad and "add a coupon". I did this on Sunday evening. The next day in the afternoon someone came in and ordered a $1700 mattress from me. As I was typing up the invoice he whipped the coupon I had designed the night before. He said, so, do I get my 10% discount or what? My mouth dropped. I could not believe I got action that fast. To this day I can attribute over $11,000 in sales directly to those very coupons. Now I pay $99 a month, I'm all over the Google network including MySpace, Aol, Ask, Eziinearticles, plus the entire content network for all my keywords. Yesterday I was on a mattress forum answering questions when on the right hand side of the page, there was my ad sponsored by localadlink.com. I average 300-400 views per month so if I were doing my own PPC campaign that would cost at least double if not triple what they are charging due to the competitive nature of my business. I'm not saying the ride has been rosy. Any startup is going to go through rough times. Yes, the explosive growth crashed the system. Yes the explosive growth sent up red flags with the merchant processor resulting in funds being cutoff and checks bouncing, ads not appearing, etc. Well guess what, the same thing happened to me when I started my business. One day I checked my account and I had $0. Well this simply couldn't be because I was having records sales. Well it was to be because I was not approved for the amount of money I was running through my account. You see the processor can be hung out to dry if the company goes out of business owing merchandise to it's customer. After long negotiations I was able to convince my processor to raise my limit and release my funds. That is exactly what happened here and thus all the negatives come out of the woodwork. McNulty vowed this would not happen again and went out and secured at least three more merchant service providers with even more in negotiations. With the launch of their own truly proprietary ad network on May 4th, I-Supply, Local Ad Link will begin populating this e-commerce solutions platform to it's first 5000 websites throughout May. Each site will be serving up ads, geo-targeted, for business advertisers in the Local Ad Link directory itself. This will greatly enhance the value of what they offer. By the end of the year they expect to have between 50,000 and 100,000 websites all serving up ads, just like Adsense, only geo-targeted exclusively. I am not denying there are people out there who are probably still owed commissions, and ads not displaying but these people are the exception. NOT the rule as depicted in this thread. Am I getting my $99 worth, heck yes. Are my friends experiencing the same type of results, heck yes. Most have upgraded to the larger zip code packages. One last statement, this company has no role model to follow in there footsteps. They are breaking new ground and of course are being attacked from all sides. In the end, those that take the most arrows get the most land.

I, too have been scammed by Local Ad Link. From what I've experienced with Local Ad Link, I do not think they know what the words "integrity" or "decency" mean. Local Ad Link charged me twice for my ads, and then refused to send me a refund for the amount they overcharged me. I contacted Local Ad Link immediately when I saw the charge on my online bank statement. In fact, I contacted them the same day the charge was placed on my account. Local Ad Link's excuse for not sending me the refund was that they said I did not notify them within 72 hours of the charge being made. Of course, I could not have contacted within that time frame because I didn't know they made the error! Local Ad Link then denied me access to my ads so I could not change them - even though they told me I would be able to make revisions to the ads at anytime. Local Ad Link overcharged me and didn't deliver the product they advertised. If that's not a ripoff, I don't know what is.
