I purchased a commercial vehicle from Steve at the Lone Mountain in GA in August of 2012. The truck checked out fine....until I put it on the road.  Long story short...the vehicle was broken more than it was driven. It was in the shop 3 months in the beginning.  That repair was $11,000. A month later I'm out another $3,000 for major repairs.  Then last month it broke again with the repairs being estimated at $10,600.  So thats over $20,000 in repairs.

By me not working, I got behind 3 months on the lease. I sent in all receipts to prove that I could'nt make any money as long as the truck was down.  So Lone Mountain took the truck from the shop without my knowledge, I found out a few days later from the shop it was at...then told me I could not get it back unless I paid $56,000.  That is unfair and a rip off.  They take advantage of the small guy. I've invested so much into the truck & they just took it from me..Also, when the truck was in the shop, they assured me the past due amount was not a factor.  They play a dirty game

Hello Pissed off, I have been selling heavy trucks since 1989 and I understand what you went through, and I hope others learn from your mistake. Again I have been selling trucks for over 25 years and I hate selling used trucks. You always leave with a smile on your face and you always come back mad. Even when you buy "Certified" used truck. What a warranty or guarantee there is nothing I as the saleman can do for you...and I hate that feeling.

Learn from the big boys...who buy new trucks and trade them every 3-4years. Those of who who insist on used trucks remember you get what you pay for and most of the used truck warranties are not worth the paper they're printed on. Those of you operating on a shoe string budget driving used crap on the road are part of the problem and you deserve to go out of business.

I'm working with a customer now who "leased" a truck from the fleet he hauls for, but it's a walkaway lease. But this gives him the look and feel of truck ownership without the maintenance or credit risk. There are several major fleets offering this program. My customer did it for 2 years and save thousands of dollars and now he is buying his own new truck and even with his sub-standard credit rating he is approved with good terms due to his driving experience and his large down payment. With proper preventative maintenance he will get 5 to 6 good years from this new truck...while saving for the next one.

I appreciate all the truck drivers out there, everything I own was moved by a truck at one point in its life...drive safe!

Once again, a crusader for Lone Mountain. Just like myself, and the plenty other O/O I've met across the nation, Lone Mountain have stiffed us. Not enough money? Pst...it's obvious you don't know how you are responding to. The fact remains this company is a sham! I have 2 other trucks & 2 other trailers that I purchased...none with the problems I've experienced with the Lone Mountain truck...my mechanic is very experienced, over 30 years in the game, so he can attest that I was sold a LEMON. Just ask those guys thats filing the class action suit what they think of Lome Mountain...I bet you would not like the response.

how is it wrong for them to take a truck that you are behind 3 months " I got behind 3 months on the lease" you think GMAC will let you get 3 months behind on your car payment and not take the car back.....? get real

" Lone Mountain took the truck from the shop without my knowledge" it's called a REPO and companies that repo NEVER tell you when they are going to, if they did people would hide it when is going to be repo'ed.....

" It was in the shop 3 months in the beginning." no repair takes 3 MONTHS

" A month later I'm out another $3,000 for major repairs" $3,000 IS NOT a major repair.... it a speed bump. and you should always have more than that sitting in saving for repairs...

" told me I could not get it back unless I paid $56,000" that is standered for ANYTHING that is repo'ed if you want it back PAY IT OFF

" I did have it checked out and Dyno'd" you didn't have it checked out very well if you did you wouldn't have had $10,000 repairs right a way.....

what did you do just take it and have the DOT and dyno done.... spending $200 is not having the truck checked out. i spent almost $1,500 having mine checked by 4 shops. and i would have had all the same things checked if i got it used from the volvo dealer...

"so don't come in hear on a white horse for Lone Mountain" i'm not, any real O/O would tell you the same thing

you went into this without doing enough research, a bad business plan and not enough MONEY......

No Floyd...they ripped me off. I did have it checked out and Dyno'd, so don't come in hear on a white horse for Lone Mountain. I'm sure myself & all the other truck drivers can't be wrong.

if you had things checked out before you got the truck you wouldn't have MAJOR repairs right away and $3,000 IS NOT a major repair on a truck  i've had a few $4,000 plus repairs on my truck in the last 2 years and that no big deal and i still made my payments ON TIME  they had every reason to take the truck back, you didn't make a payment for 3 MONTHS
