I would not recommend any truck driver to buy a truck from this company you will be putting your life in danger the day you drive out, we all know that used trucks is going to give you problems, but not 3 days after your purchase, then you notify them of the problem and they don't even want to know you or fix any of the problems and the customer service is terrible the people that work for them have attitudes and are nasty and disrespectful over the phone. There policy that you have to get the truck dot yourself once you leave is a rip-off because if you find something wrong with the truck they want you to only bring it back to there shop,,how many people you know that buys a truck that lives in a different state will be able to bring itback. that drive several hours, hundreds of dollars in fuel to go back, the policy should be if you find a problem with the truck you take it to a certified truck mechanic in your state and they will fix it. Lone mountain puts out these great ads in truck paper with the low down payments....sounds good but they are selling lemons....owner operators buy your truck from a dealer that dot inspects them before they sell it to you....you will live longer and have a better truck in the long run.

I am suspicious of your claims. Several of things you claimed to have in hand are specific to a particular vehicle. Both the 2290 and irp require a VIN. How could you have had them without a truck?

reading this heart breaking stories its sad However I've learned in business its your responsibility to check the truck and take the extra mile to protect yourself. And to the guy saying how much you made and they won't sell you a second trk its because maybe your business plan was flawed. If your making that much gross not net you should have good credit and buying a truck would be simple, which shows they know what their doing. TO BE CLEAR TO PEOPLE INTERESTED IN BUYING TRK THROUGH LONE MOUNTAIN, its a great place to start. I was suggested time and time again to take my truck before I signed contract by Lone mountain sales agents GO GET TRK DYNO,HAVE IT INSPECTED AND WE WILL FIX everything you if any, because we want you to be successful. 5 more payments I'm done with this one,and family members are a few moths behind me NONE OF US HAVE HAD ANY ISSUES. IT'S BUSINESS STAND ON YOUR OWN FEET AND STOP SHIFTING FAULT TO OTHERS AND EXAMINE YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS PLAN.!!! I PRAY YOUR FUTURE SUCCESS HOWEVER A SELF EXAMINATION HAS TO TAKE PLACE 1ST. ASK YOURSELF WHAT CAN I DO BETTER????

AUTHOR: JoeHoovestol - (USA) when you saying we inspect our truck you laying, when you said we allow our customer to go there home for inspection it is lie.

1) I leased a truck from you dealer then you sales rep told me go freigfhtliner in omaho, NE then I went to detrot interstate power, then found rear end axle are bad,  they are not conecting when you swich the button, come back to pasific juction shop, do you know what the machenic said, is working take the truck is yours, when I refused to have that truck I call you sister the one who works that location, after an hour of agrument, they but new oil at the deff and told me ready but dont take to interstate diesel go to freightliner I  said ok, after that I go back to again interstate diesel, again  it is same fail again,

bring back the shop the mechanic told me why did you go to detriot and yield to me.

it cost me 4x195= 780 just dyno same issue

2) I took the truck to cummins Minneapolis, Minnesota re -do dyno and fail for DPF and DOC check Engine  warning came out.

I call the cresco I talked cristine she was my case worker she said it is not our responsibility at that time even I did not had one load the truck was still in process of ducoment. I ask her if I can return and get different truck or repaire she said no.

so how you can said we allow our customer to go their own inspection. if you need all dyno and report from cummins and interstate diesel. plz feel free to contact me at [email protected] I will send to you all of paper work. I paid 4 dyno in omaho same problem reer end defrential not conecting.  with in 17 month I spent $33800 for just repaire

3) the truck had accident while  knights  owned you didn't tell me that. the truck was pulling left and is very deficalt to handle.

it is not aligning, it needs 2  steer tire every 3 month. I did alignment 7 times within 15 month and installed 4 set of steer tire. I got injury left shoulder. then when I confused why not alingnment, I looked at carfax found very bad accident allmost destroy intire left side of the truck, I have report either.

if  you need all paper work let me know. send me E-mail then I will fax to you

sorry my spelling and bad writting.

I purchased a commercial vehicle from Steve at the Lone Mountain in GA in August of 2012. The truck checked out fine....until I put it on the road.  Long story short...the vehicle was broken more than it was driven. It was in the shop 3 months in the beginning.  That repair was $11,000. A month later I'm out another $3,000 for major repairs.  Then last month it broke again with the repairs being estimated at $10,600.  So thats over $20,000 in repairs.  By me not working, I got behind 3 months on the lease. I sent in all receipts to prove that I could'nt make any money as long as the truck was down.  So Lone Mountain took the truck from the shop without my knowledge, I found out a few days later from the shop it was at...then told me I could not get it back unless I paid $56,000.  That is unfair and a rip off.  They take advantage of the small guy. I've invested so much into the truck & they just took it from me..Also, when the truck was in the shop, they assured me the past due amount was not a factor.  They play a dirty game

Lone Mtn is nothing more than liers...I went to thier wb site and done an online app i called them and talk to matthew...I told him i've been in the bussin my whole life and i started driving in Nov.1999...I gat my own truck and dot authy in 2003 and run under it for a little while than i leased on to a company b/c of all the new laws comeing into play...I said i was looking to add an 2nd truck and it would be leased to the company am runing for now...I am paid by the load not the miles and just in 6 months with this company i made a little over $86,000...Told the guy i already had a driver, insur, mainten account,plate,2290,ifta and every thing set up ready to go all i need was a truck... And i was told that they really didn't like the fact i already had a truck and was looking at adding a 2nd one...And told me that they wasn't sure i could make the payments on thier truck if they gave me one...So i dont see how people are saying they have 2 or more trucks with this company and are building thier fleets by useing lone mtn...B/c they told me they only way i can get a truck though them was if i gat rid of the truck i have now or if i become rich than they would lease me a truck... THIER WEBSITE SAYS THEY MAKEING BUYING A TRUCK EASY WITH THEM AND UR WORK HISTORY AND TIME IN THE TRUCKING BUSSIN GOS A LONG WAY WITH THEM WHAT A LOT OF BULLSH?T AND LIES

With any experience at all in this industry, you should know. At any given time mechanical failures can happen. They are in most cases unforeseen. I don't expect any used truck to be completely rebuilt from rears throughout the rest of the gears. I bought a brand new Kenworth in 1979 and at 56k miles it lost a turbo at -20 degrees in South Dakota. Then I purchased a brand new Peterbilt 379 in 1981 and it lost the 13 speed Fuller at 21k miles. I have bought brand new light bulbs that did not work. The old saying goes "Things Happen" maybe not exactly like that but, man up, grab a pair and deal with lifes unexpected events.

I was with you untill the last paragraph. That says to me,catch us if you can.Seems to me that any truck your selling should be road worthy and had a very thorough inspection by you or who ever does it for you. There are alot of people out there buying there first truck that don't know alot about them, not to mention the cost of taking it somewhere else to have it inspected.Sounds to me like you should be selling AS IS trucks. Also if someone lives 1500 miles away or they are 2000 miles away on a trip and they break down, how are they going to get it back to you?If you told them they had to bring it back to you to get fixed then that should have been a red flag for them.Even used truck dealers will provide a warranty for a price where you can get your truck fixed anywhere in North America

I'm not coming down on you because there is always 2 sides to every story, but I can only go by what I read.

I wish everyone nothing but the best and God Bless.

#12REBUTTAL Owner of company

The above report by an "anonymous" poster should not be taken seriously. It is completely untrue. I would recommend talking to one of our 1600+ satisfied customers that are currently on the road, or one of the hundreds of people that have paid off a truck with Lone Mountain. You can find many of these people on Facebook as well as the truckers report.

As the general manager of Lone Mountain I can tell you that we purchase large groups of fleet maintained trucks, and price them as competitively as possible. Every truck is inspected in our shop before it is put on the front line for customers to look at. Unlike most dealers, Lone Mountain also lets every customer take as much time as they would like to inspect the truck that they choose. We have had customers take several days looking at their truck, and that is fine with us. Buying a truck is a big responsibility and should be taken seriously.

We also let every customer take their truck to the shop of their choice to get DOT, Dyno, oil samples and any other inspection that they would like. Our trucks almost always pass every inspection, but if they don't, we will fix the problem at no cost to the customer in one of our shops. If a customer wants to have an inspection done at their local shop, they are welcome to do that, but if repairs are needed they will need to bring it back to our shop. This is standard policy for every used truck and car dealer in the United States.

We want every truck to be ready to go as soon as it leaves our lot so that we have happy customers that can go right to work. It wouldn't do us any good to sell bad trucks.

If you don't want to take the time to really look over a used truck that you are going to purchase from a dealer and you don't want to have it inspected before leaving a dealer's lot, then you probably should not be in this business.
